It’s loosened up a couple of times, but once it’s worked in and tightened it’s a good rack.

Alright, I bought this product when it had no reviews on it, and I liked it so much I wanted to give a full review so that buyers can know a bit more about this product before purchasing. For the short version, this product is great and works wonderfully, if you want something that attaches to your seat post and not any other part of the bike, this is about as good as it gets. The materials are quality enough and the design is great. Contrary to what the pictures might look like on the product, the rack does not slide in its position freely, it uses screws to hold its position so you can have it extend out or in, but it stays in whatever position it is set at.
Now for the longer version: I typically dislike the way a rear bike rack looks, especially ones designed to attach to the seat post (but mostly because they are often not designed to be minimalistic which is what I prefer). For a long while, I have been looking for a minimalist rear bike rack that attaches to the triangle shaped part of the bike frame typically seen right above the rear brake system (see photos). The only ones I have seen like that are part of fixed gear bike shows (I believe there is one in Portland, OR) and on design websites. So after searching for something like that and determining I couldn’t buy one, I decided I would make my own rear bike rack that attaches to that part of the bike because I wanted a minimal bike rack that would fit with my minimalist bikes. After coming across this product however, I decided that it looked simple and minimalist enough that I would want to try it (it was cheap enough for me to not be too worried if I only kept it on my cheaper bikes if it didn’t work out right). Once I received the package, I tried attaching it to the seat post, and realized that it actually fits within the triangle part of the frame and is at just the right angle to clear the back tire when installed as high as it sits in that position (the bike is 700c). The photos show what I mean and this is the ideal position for me and I am super happy with the result. It is not the intended way to install, but I like the look and will buy another one for my other fixed gear bike.
