This rack works pretty well on my Cannondale F7 mountain bike. I originally bought a cheaper rack on Amazon, but found it couldn’t easily be attached due to the disc brakes on my bike. This rack, in comparison, easily mounted on the back of the bike and seems very sturdy. I’ve put almost my entire weight on it and it didn’t even seem to flex a little bit, so it definitely seems to be able to carry the weight that it is rated for. It was very easy to install, much easier than I anticipated it was going to be after reading the installation instructions sent to me by the seller. Once I understood how it is supposed to work, it only took about 10 minutes to get it installed. I did not install the U-brackets on my bike, since I am not using the rack for panniers, I didn’t see a point. They don’t add any structural rigidity that I can see, so they are just extra weight. I mounted a “large milk crate” from a local retail store to the top with Velcro straps, and it was easily able to carry home my extra groceries that didn’t fit in my bike trailer. I couldn’t find an easy way to mount my bike light directly to this rack, but I did find that the adjustment screws underneath the top sliding plate were an excellent place to mount a 15″ piece of 1/2″ PVC pipe that I could attach my light to. Overall, this was definitely worth the price I paid for it, and I would highly recommend it if you have disc brakes or some other attachment on your bike causing you headaches with regular mounts.

Well made and sturdy. Locking nuts do bolts won’t come loose. Assembly tools included. Looks great on the bike and I like the quick release on the seat post. To remove you would still have to undue the support bolts. I would recommend things rack. Also suggest you put some cement on the rubber padding protectors to hold in place when installing. I mounted complete rack but did not fully tighten all the bolts until I had where I wanted it. No instructions but ready to see how to install.

As others have said, there were no instructions with it. However by going on Amazon and referring to the pictures with the product description I was able to mount it successfully and happy with it even though it appeared it might have been returned as one part was scratched. It is light and sturdy as it is made mostly from aluminum. I could not mount it on my wife’s bike because she is short and there was not enough room below the seat. As others have stated the W shaped brackets were too long to fit the holes so I just sprung them in and they are fine. I guess their purpose is to prevent loose flapping items from getting to the wheel and that is not a bad idea. I also had to cut the rubber strips that go inside the clamps on the downrods as they were too long as delivered. If you are not shorter than about 5’4″ and handy this could be a good bike rack for you.

I recently purchased a great quality bike for the first time in my life, and I found myself wanting to ride it absolutely everywhere! I’m a student, so I regularly ride it to campus, but I also take it to the store, the park, and to visit friends and family. I frequently need to transport large items that don’t fit in my backpack, so I needed something to tie things down to. I was very happy to find such a great priced cargo rack with incredible reviews, and it did not disappoint!

    Pros
    – Very light, yet can support a LOT of weight!
    – Great design that allows you to easily attach bungee chords or rope to tie multiple things down.
    – Easy to put together– doesn’t take very long, and all of the tools are included.
    – The back of the rack has a reflector, so safety was in mind in the design. I was worried it would block my bike’s reflector, but they were one step ahead!
    – They provide little rubber slips for some of the joints in case your bike has a slightly smaller diameter like mine.
    – They also provide a little bungee chord that works very well with the design of the rack. I left it on there and use it regularly with my two additional bungees.
    – I’ve had it for about a month now, and I use it regularly, and I haven’t noticed any wear or tear.
    – It helps prevent rain splatter from the ground to my back!

    Cons
    – The cargo rack doesn’t come with paper instructions, but you can easily find the instructions online here: . Arguably, this is a pro because we aren’t wasting paper!
    – The rack is somewhat narrow, which makes it more difficult to keep larger objects on top of it. This keeps the weight down, though, and you can easily add a piece of wood or cardboard to extend the edges, if needed.

All in all, this will be the cargo rack I come back to when I convince my husband to get a bike. It is super high quality and a price you can’t beat.

I will start off by saying this is a very nice bike rack. It’s built quite well and is pretty sturdy.

The package was much lighter than I anticipated. Everything came in separate bags and was pretty easy to figure out how to put together. I do wish instructions came with it though, as it would make it easier for others to put it together (who might not be as handy or clever). All in all it took about an hour to put together. It was a nice bonus that all the necessary tools for the job did in fact come with the kit. Once properly assembled, it is very strong and should hold up as its meant to. I find it important to mention that if you have back shocks, this kit will render them basically useless. Not a huge deal for me as I only really ride on trails in parks and nothing that would require me to use the rear shocks. The rack is adjustable and should fit basically most bikes no problem. It’s well designed and looks good in my bike. I do with the reflector that came with it was a bit nicer, it’s kinda junky.

Please be advised I received this item at a discount in exchange for an honest review. All of my reviews are strictly my thoughts and opinions. My goal is to help other customers make the best decision for what they’re shopping for. None of my statements are biased or untrue.
