There are similar products with all sorts of designs, shapes, and connection points to help support a new bicycle rider as they learn to balance and ride. This product is quite good in that it connects on both sides of the rear wheel’s axle. I feel like that gives better parent control during assist .. whereas a single midpoint connection to the seat post or other single point gives a little less ‘feel’ for helping the new bike rider learn. The handle also has an easily adjustable length. Personally, I feel like a shorter length gives the parent-helper more control. Overall, this is a fine product for assisting new bike riders while they develop their balance and control skills

I didn’t even know these bars existed until I just happened to see one that my neighbor was using. We’ve been trying to help our grandchild learn how to ride a bicycle but just after a few moments, it really hurts your back to be leaned over trying to push the grandchild. This training bar is the perfect fix for that. You just have to make sure that it is pretty tight when you tighten the bolts or else the bar will move when you are pushing on it. Once we got it tight enough, it worked perfectly. Now all we have to do is wait for the grandchild to come over so we can actually use it.

It’s slightly too big to fit my 2-yr old ‘s bike. I had to remove one washer otherwise the bolt is too short. So it turns if I pull it to hard. But it does the job. Saves my back

I did a lot of research online and folks recommend teaching toddlers to ride their bikes as balance bikes first (whereas growing up, I learned on training wheels). My friend showed me her hack of her Woom One bike where she added a bike training handle to help stabilize the bike as her toddler was learning to ride so I was eager to do the same.
I like this one bc it seems higher than the one on our other bike, so me and my husband can hold it comfortably with a slight bend in our elbows (the previous one from another brand I bought was too short and we have to bend down slightly); and this one is adjustable. For reference I am 5’4″ and my husband is 5’8″.
My husband was the one who installed and he said it was easy and straightforward. He did mention the metal connection is a bit wiggly but is fine. He really liked how sturdy the handle is too.
Great purchase and this will help my kiddo learn how to ride a bike.

This back handle bar for training on a bicycle is basic and simple enough. It does what its supposed to, but is large compared to the rider. It holds up the bike for someone under 60lbs, just don’t trying to lift the bike from this handle.

I ordered this Trainer Handle to mount on my grandson’s bike so that I wouldn’t have to lean over and hold the handlebars while I taught him how to ride a bike without training wheels. What I discovered was once it was installed (more on that later), it worked fantastic and really made it much, much easier to run next to him while keeping him and the bike upright. I’m 6’1” and found the handle to be plenty tall enough for me. I wish I had this solution for when my kids where learning (and when I was teaching my other grandson).
The big issue has to do with the assembly. There is a washer with a tab that is supposed to fit in the bike frame slot where the rear wheel is attached. Unfortunately, the tab on that washer is too big for the slot on my grandson’s bike. When the tab is not in the slot the trainer handle is free to rotate up and down, thereby making it useless. Fortunately for me I have a grinder and was able to modify the tab so that it fit in the bike frame slot.
If you look closely at the company’s marketing photos, you’ll notice that the two straight pieces that are attached to the bike frame are not identical. One is straight, and the other has a ninety-degree bend on the bottom (I also show that difference in my attached photos). I don’t’ know why there’s a difference, and there’s no reference to the difference in the assembly instructions. I attached the one with the ninety-degree bend to the side with the chain, figuring maybe it’s to help keep the chain from falling off.
Another minor issue is the foam handle is not firmly attached to the U-shaped bar. In fact, it easily slid on the U-shaped bar and I had to keep recentering it on the bar. Not a big deal, but the manufacturer does say it’s anti-slip and I did not find that to be correct.
I gave this a two-star rating because: (1) the washer did not work on the bike and for many people they will not be able to modify the washer and therefore this trainer handle will not work at all, and (2) the foam handle does slip on the U-shaped bar. If it weren’t for (1), I would have given this a 4-star rating so if you can modify the tab on the washer, then this is a helpful trainer handle.
