I was interested in this bag for my home built e-bike, because of its size, and the fact that the bottom is rigid. I have used the other common phone pouches for the top bar mount, and they always end up distorted and lose their shape, which makes the zipper harder to use. This bag holds its shape, and the zipper is easily opened while riding. It also has a convenient tie strap to mount to the stem, so it is easy to take on and off. I am glad that I got this, and aside from the color not matching my bike, I have nothing negative to say about it.

I am thrilled with this bike tube bag! I attached it to my Diamondback, and it works perfectly. This bag is just the right size, its not too bulky but spacious enough to hold all the essentials. I can comfortably fit a patch kit, a small tool kit, pressure gauge, and even my keys and an energy bar. It’s become a must-have for my rides, giving me peace of mind that I’ve got everything I need in one compact spot.
The mounting system is super secure, with strong Velcro straps that keep it snug against the frame. It doesn’t budge, even when I’m riding on rough trails or bumpy city streets. The material feels tough and durable, so I know it’ll stand up to plenty of use. Plus, the weather-resistant design means I don’t have to worry about a little rain soaking my gear.
I also love the sleek look and it doesn’t detract from my bike’s style at all. The olive green color is subtle but adds a nice touch. Overall, this bag is functional, sturdy, and looks great on my bike. If you’re looking for a reliable and stylish tube bag, I’d highly recommend this one.

I had high hopes for this top tube bag. The design is such that you attach a harness to your frame, and the bag slips in and out of the harness – this is a great idea that other manufacturers use for different sorts of bike bags, but this is the first time I’ve seen it for a top tube. I also like the size – I was able to fill it with my basic repair kit (small pump, multi-tool, patch kit, tire levers, etc.) and my basic first aid kit (a few bandages, tape, ointments, etc.). Would work out perfectly for those items to be sitting on my top tube where I could get to them easily.
The first problem is that the harness, which is a stiff plastic shell, is convex (round) on the bottom (see photo). The bag naturally wants to roll off your tube, on one side or the other. It might work for you if you cinch it down really tight, and don’t put much weight in the bag. I have another top-tube bag from a different manufacturer, and the bottom is convex, which nests perfectly with your tube – I recommend that Yubrand consider this as a redesign. To compound the problem, the steering tube of just about any bike (unless it has a very long stem) will rub against the front of the bag (see photo), so when you turn one way or the other, it wants to push the bag off the frame.
Since I liked this bag so much as a bag, and wanted to make it work, I tried mounting it to my seatpost, but that position just rubbed against my legs. I’m not giving up on it – the bag is very nicely made, and I like it – so I’ll probably jerry-rig some sort of mounting solution somewhere on the frame. Hence the three-star rating: a nicely made bag, great stitching, zipper works well, good volume, but just not working out for me on the top tube.

TL;DR: A fairly well constructed bag and convenient little bag but because of the tapered shape, large phones (over 6.75×3.25 inches) probably won’t fit. There is also very little inside the bag to protect things from banging into each other, so it’s up to you to protect your phone from your keys, for example. And contrary to the description this is NOT waterproof. There is a large gap between the end of the zipper and the back wall of the bag which means water can ingress through that gap.
PROs:
-Get stuff out of your pockets while riding!
-Well constructed (no loose stitching frayed edged, cheap materials, etc.)
-The design of being able to leave the hard cradle on your bike and just taking the bag off is a good idea and the bag part is unlikely to come off on it’s own once installed on the bike due to the design.
-The velcro straps are long enough to work on very large tube bikes (my ebike has a rectangular 9 inch circumference main frame tube and the straps are just barely long enough to secure).
-Zipper seems decent quality and has a rubber cover over the teeth to help prevent water from getting in that way. (bag itself isn’t waterproof though, see cons for more details)
-There are mesh side pockets on the inside that might be useful to keep small things (like a single key or lighter) from banging around.
CONs:
-The bag cannot be considered “waterproof” in my opinion. There is a gap and the end of the zipper where the top piece isn’t sewn to the side piece. This isn’t a defect, it’s an intentional design since both open edges are finished with binding. They wouldn’t have bothered if it was supposed to be sewn together. So, this bag would protect your stuff from a random splash or a light sprinkle, but in a downpour it’s going to get water in there without some modifications or precautions.
-The space inside is pretty tight. A pair of sunglasses is going to pretty much fill the majority of it. If your phone is much larger than a Galaxy Note 9 (6.37 x 3.01 x 0.35 in) or an LG V60 (6.67 x 3.06 x 0.35 in) it simply won’t work. If you have a bulky case like an Otterbox it might make a smaller phone too large as well. Also, with my phone, slim bi-fold wallet, and keys (3 house keys, small pocket knife, and VW keyfob) it’s pretty much maxed out as far was what can fit. Thankfully, that’s all I need to put in it.
-There are no dividers or internal protection on the inside of the bag. Meaning if you don’t want your keys scratching your phone/sunglasses, that’s on you to figure out a way to protect things. There are some small open mesh pockets on the side, but they wouldn’t protect stuff from scratching since the mesh has large holes and will only fit something very small like a single key or lighter.
Additional Notes:
I wanted a bag like this since I hate having stuff in my pockets while peddling my ebike. Not only am I always worried about stuff falling out but the constantly shifting weight is annoying. This bag fixes that issue for me. However, it’s on the small side. It barely fits my phone (LG V60), slim bi-fold wallet, and keys (3 house keys, small pocket knife, and a VW keyfob). So if you have a large phone, or a bulky case, it’s probably not going to fit. Also, I can’t imagine it being able to fit a modern phone and pair of full-sized sunglasses together.
Also, be mindful that I don’t think this can be called a “waterproof” bag because of the gap at the end of the zipper (more details in the cons section). However, since I’m not going to be riding my ebike in the rain anyway (water+battery=bad news), so this doesn’t really bother me.
Overall, this is a good bag though. It’s made out of materials that don’t feel like they are going to come apart from looking at them wrong and the design is pretty thoughtful. Although, there are some loops, and such which I would have no idea how they could be used. But better to have them and not need them, I guess. So, if you are looking for a small bag to strap to the top side of your bike frame to fit a few small things in, this is a great choice, just be sure to measure your phone (or other things) before pulling the trigger. If your phone it’s larger than 6.75×3.25 inches (including the case) in either dimension, look for something else

This is a simple bag, not sure if I will use the capability to quickly undue it from the plastic taco it rests inside of. The carbon fiber looking material is plastic. The bag and execution fo the product seem good so far. I have not been through rain with it, but I have found that I don’t kick it with my foot as often as I thought I would, and it holds a cold canned beverage no problem. I am thinking it could fit a lot of my bike tools if I want to use it for that.
Did not get this item with a purpose in mind, so for now it is installed and waiting for me to find a great use for it.
