This kit had everything I needed to bleed my system when I upgraded to a set of Shimano XT 8120 brakes plus extra bits I’ll probably never need. The cup has an interesting little built in plunger (push to open, pull to close) that kept the job clean with no spillage.

The syringe I used on the caliper’s bleed valve worked well to push fresh oil through the system, also with minimal mess. The metal adapters for the cup seemed to come in pairs so you have extra if you lose one (I have two for Shimano).

The box is handy for storing it all when you put it away, but there’s so much stuff it’s hard to get it closed again. Pay attention to how they packed it when you receive it if you expect to get it all back in there.

Let me be the first paying customer to leave an honest review. This was my first experience with bleeding brakes and this kit made it easy and at a great price. All of the parts are of good quality and it has the adapters I needed for my Zoom HB875 brakes.

I like that the adapters are brass instead of plastic. No worries about accidentally putting too much lateral force on one and snapping the threads, which seems like a real risk with the plastic versions. I also like that there’s a valve on the reservoir cup instead of the stick plug thing like I’ve seen with other kits.

My only gripe is that you have to be careful with the adapter quick disconnect for the syringe. If you press too hard on the syringe, creating excessive pressure while bleeding, or accidentally pull on the tube, the quick disconnect can pop out and cause a mess. Ask me how I know.

We bleed brakes all the time. Most syringes in bleed kits are of the farm or medical type and don’t work great for bleeding. These syringes are purpose built and comfortable to use. Time will tell, but the seal in the plunger appears to be silicone instead of rubber, so hopefully it won’t swell after contact with brake fluid like others do. There are plenty of connectors to interface with the quick release reservoir, multiple tubes, multiple bleed blocks, hose clamps to pinch off the tubes in the kit, and gloves. You’ll have to supply your own brake fluid which makes sense as the type varies over manufacturers. We used this on our XTR and ZEE shimano brakes and were less frustrated than we normally are. Just keep your pads and rotors far away from where you are bleeding so you don’t ruin them with oil.

The 2 oil option, the first option. Do NOT buy if you have StarUnion Hydraulic Disc Brakes, none of the fittings or anything aren’t compatible for the 2 oil option. The second option is compatible for StarUnion Disc Brakes. Be aware and do your research. The kit is useless for me, but I should’ve done more research. It’s worth the money if you don’t have a StarUnion brake system. My 3 star rating is because it SHOULD be compatible for all brake systems and there SHOULD only be one option cause you never know, you may need some extra parts.
