When I purchased the bike rack, I was worried it might not be good enough. I read all the reviews and the one and two-star reviews left me wondering if I made a mistake. Once the rack arrived, I assembled it and put it on my bike. It fit perfectly and the saddlebags fit perfectly. I don’t know how some people have problems, but installing wasn’t difficult at all.

I wanted a folding bike in the vehicle for emergencies and trails the bike I have didn’t have a cargo rack . This fits perfectly. It had various pieces to attach and was able to choose the best way for my bike. The instructions were not great but the pictures made it OK. Had to SLIGHTLY bend a couple rods to get it fit the mounting holes on the bike but i expected some hand fitting . It is pretty sturdy

Looked for a long time to find a rack that would work with the electric fat tire bike as a back rack, and ultimately decided on this one. All was going well until one of the cheap screws they sent with it broke off when using an Allen wrench to try to get it in the hole on the bike frame. We were hardly torquing on it whatsoever, and it snapped and now it is stuck in there, making the whole project a waste. At this point we are trying to figure out what to do since the screw is basically broke off and stuck in there forever. Therefore, no other screw to secure the rack can be used in that hole. Ughh

This rack is made of a metal that easily bends under the load of a Bafang M625 battery. I’ve tried to doctor-up the rack by adding reinforcement mechanisms using large zip ties and nylon straps. But I’m not too optimistic about this rack lasting another bump in the road since the last firstrun fail. (waiting on ebike parts before trying again) In addition to this pending failure of a rack. There’s easily strippable nuts on the locations that matter. The legs are prone to bending under the weight of a ~12lbs Bafang ebike Smile battery. So this rack will not survive the 70lbs plus rated weight limit it’s touting in it’s specs. This rack is installed on my full suspension mountain bike that I use as a commuter and not as an off-roader. So, I have a 350 lbs rated rear spring to give me a softer ride with me being ~220bs. My point to the last bits of this message? If this rack can’t handle the softer buffered jars of a full suspension bike. It certainly wouldn’t last the hard jarrings of my hard tail with front suspension. This rack is a major fail. For being difficult to put together and for for it’s inferior material. In my strong opinion this rack needs to be made out of pure steel to be of good use. Not some kind of soft lightweight alloy. Even the cheapest steel being used as the sole material would probably make this rack useable. This rack’s price is not the reason for it’s inferiority. Because I have an older rack on my hybrid that is lightweight but stronger that cost me around the same prices as this rack. That has stood up to be fully loaded down with groceries and even loaded down with my Banfang M625 kit coming from Fedex riding over bumps for about 3 miles or more. And that rack has not failed in it’s over 5 years of me having it. However, this rack is an absolute disaster waiting to happen.

Does the job for installations where other models won’t fit. As other stated, you need to be patient when installing this thing. Many micro adjustments required to get it just right.

Good fit on my Hardrock. You will need your own tools to install. Does not include a reflector. Instructions are minimal and hard to see but you can figure it out from the photo of the assembled product. The hardware is good for the price.

This bike rack is now fixed to my bike and seems sturdy. Only put it on today (05/24/24) and it was difficult to comprehend the “instructions.” The instructions are a series of poorly cropped photos, no description of parts included, not detailed at all, left me with many extra (spare?) parts, and printed on a card-stock that is slightly larger than a traditional postcard. I struggled to get fix it to my bike but was successful in the end after about 2 hours of trial and error. Again, I have not tested this for weight bearing but I have ridden the bike with this fixed on the back and a basket and it went well. Not planning to carry super heavy items on it but would be nice for a trip to the grocery store to grab a few small items (dinner ingredients, other small trips).

Heavier than I expected, ok for an e-bike, but I wouldn’t use it for extended touring where one would want to minimize weight. But I would say it’s sturdy, if all the screws hold tight. Although it’s easy enough to figure out how to put it together, the instructions are near useless and possibly could mislead since it uses old photographs of some prior version with minor differences. The best instruction guide for it is on YouTube where there’s a video which goes over where some of the more questionable parts go. Search for “ZTZ Bike Rear Rack”. Given the number of screw-fastened joints, anyone using this should liberally use Loctite or some similar thread-locking compound, as so many potentially loose screws are an accident waiting to happen. All it needs to get started is a little road vibration.
