I bought this CamelBak hydration belt, not for use on a mountain bike, but for local fitness walks of an hour or so, as my Central California area can get quite warm over the summer even during early morning hours. I think that its 21 ounce bottle should suffice for walks of up to 5 miles over an hour and a half.
The bottle supplied has very secure open-close mechanism and a protective cap. The main compartment readily holds my iPhone 13 Pro, in a protective case, which my prior hydration belt would not hold.
While one earlier reviewer suggested that this hydration belt would not work for anyone with a waist larger than 36 inches, my belt size is alas 40, and this hydration belt expands easily to accommodate that and in fact, probably would be adequate for up to 44 inches.
My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer a model with a safety, yellow color.
I would caution that for dayhikes of a half day, or so, one needs a larger amount of water, so a larger belt bag or a small backpack, holding two bottles would be preferred, also to handle additional equipment not needed simply for local workouts.

No water bottle…had to buy just the water bottle separately so I bought 2 and I asked for a bottle to be shipped to me and there’s no response…I do love the way you can reach for the water bottle though while mountain biking, best 1 out there and I’ve looked everywhere

While this is promoted for mountain biking, I have been using it for the past 6 months for running and it works well. I like the fact that it easily holds a larger phone (iPhone 12 Pro Max) and has plenty of room for other items like keys and gels. The key clip and inner mesh pockets help keep things like keys from moving around in the bag while running. The cap on the bottle, presumably to keep dirt out while mountain biking, is also nice for trail running, beach running, and even protecting the mouth piece if you put in an outside pocket of a pack and slide it under the seat on an airplane.

I purchased this pack hoping it might be useful for cross-country skiing. The slant bottle across the back looked load-balancing. But: the gear capacity is tiny. It’s listed as 2 L but can’t be more than 1L. I had hoped it could hold a knit hat and a fleece neck gaiter in addition to the other items in the photo. What a huge disappointment.
– Main zippered pocket: 5.5x5x2″ (knit headband + Pixel 4a cell phone + trail map)
Inner mesh pocket: 2.75×2.25″ (cards w/ keys on key clip)
Inner mesh pocket: 4×2.25″ (2 energy bars and a gel)
– Outer flat zippered pocket: 5.5×5″ (sunglasses)
Measured capacity: 0.9 L. Weight: 6.7 oz + 3.2 oz for the water bottle that comes with it

getting the bottle in an out is awkward – I am not sure I could easily do it while riding at a decent clip – not that I have any suggestions to make it better, it kind of it what it is for this type of pack.
Plenty of room for everything you could reasonably expect to carry. A larger format phone may be tight in the outer pocket, but can it in the inner part.

The belt is comfortable to wear even with a full water bottle. One of the best ways I’ve found to carry water on a walk or hike.

WhyMe –
Needed a new dog walking belt for large phone (Galaxy S23 ultra in a folding case). This fits the bill. The front zippered pocket holds the phone and a roll of poop bags. I have a citronella spray and collapsable bowl attached to belt. A caveat – watch the size of the water bottle. You can use a large bottle but it gets in the way. The belt adjusts easily and holds the adjustment securely. Most important – this isn’t bulky. I am 5’2″ and didn’t want to look like I was going on trekking exhibition. You can’t go wrong with Camelbak.

Purchased for walking with my dog. The position of the water bottle makes it more stable than other products I’ve tried. Great for neighborhood trail walks but wish the pockets were just a little bigger for going out in town when I need dog treats, poop bags, collapsing water bowl, small wallet, lip balm, car keys, folded shopping bag, pocket knife, and glasses. It’s a tight fit, without glasses.
