I was a bit skeptical about a 13 dollar and some change bike computer, but for the price what did I have to loose. I have had it for about a month and must say it has been one of the best value for the money purchases I have made in a long time. Simple 5 minute Well I thought I would update my review install, It is very accurate as well on a recent 16 mile round trip off road treck I returned to my point of beginning to within 1/10 of a mile. I have been caught in the rain and the unit still performed flawlessly. I’m impressed! Small light weight, rugged, simple to use.
Well it’s 8/22/21 and an update on my bike computer, put fresh batteries in the lower part could seem to get it to reconnect. Parked the bike for few days it’s running perfectly what about a year later . Use it every day great bargain

I waited until I was able to successfully install the unit as well as test it against a known good/accurate bicycle speedometer/odometer. I hope my findings will help potential buyers. Since the negatives (cons) far outweigh the positives, I’ll start with those:

    1) Instructions are TERRIBLE. The “instruction book” is simply a sheet of folded 8 1/2 x 11 (inch) paper, with English on one side (passable, but not great) and German on the other side. The amount of detail provided is insufficient for a ‘n00b’ to successfully install the unit (I succeeded since I’ve had several wired units). Usually, if pressed for space, the manufacturer includes a URL to a PDF file or perhaps a QR code. No help here.

    2) The sensing/transmitting unit is HUGE … which means its hard to mount on the fork & have space between the magnetic probe on the spokes. Even when I mounted mine at the very top of the fork, which gave the most space, I still had to angle it to the side in order to provide enough clearance for the spinning magnet.

    3) The display, which mounts on the handlebars, MUST be mounted within 24 inches of the sender/TX on the fork. The display has limits. The DST (distance) is only accurate to 1 decimal place (tenths of a mile). My other units go to 3 decimal places. There is no ODO (odometer) read out to keep track of seasonal distance. Once you reset the DST for your current ride, your total distance is gone as well. If you reset your Max Speed or Avg Speed or Time, you will blow away your DST as well. This is a serious shortcoming imho. The Display DOES NOT activate automatically from sleep mode. So, when you go to ride, you will have to ‘wake’ it manually.

    Positives:
    1) The display unit uses Nvram, so resetting or changing the battery will not lose your settings.
    2) You can easily adjust your calibration number, to dial it in if needed. There was a setting for my 700 x 38C tires, which appears to be fairly accurate. The sizes listed in the set up chart cover the majority of bike tire sizes.

    Summary:
This unit is okay for the occasional bicycle rider, but not for serious users. There are enough negatives to prevent me from recommending it. For a few more bucks, I would recommend you get a “Cat’s Eye” brand unit, which are, in general, far superior to this unit, and are easier to install.

I got this product in 2023. Had hard time to get the speedometer to work, not registering any distance when I manually turning the wheel fast. I re-read the instruction, and noticed that the magnet needed to be placed on a spoke pointing to the edge of the sensor, not to the center of the sensor. Voila, the speedometer started recording the distance.
A few days ago, the speedometer started behaving strangely, recording a couple of times, then went dead. I ordered the same product again, but couldn’t get it to work.

I started reading the reviews, and one of them pointed out that you need to replace not only the LCD screen and also the sensor battery. So I did, VOILA, it’s working again. THANK you for sharing your experience. I feel very happy, not because of saving the effort to get a different one, it solved the puzzle 😁

This bike computer is advertised as “Bicycle Speedometer Waterproof Wireless Cycle Bike Computer Bicycle Odometer with LCD Display & Multi-Functions”…but it has no odometer function!

Every bike computer I have ever encountered before at minimum has a resettable/presettable odometer function, which logs total miles ridden, as well as a DST (distance) function which logs the miles of each individual trip. But this one has no odometer function. The odometer function is the most important one for me because I keep track of my lifetime total miles…and if I didn’t have a DST function, I could still keep track of my individual trips by noting the odometer milage at the beginning and end of each trip. But although this computer has a DST function, it is not presettable so keeping track of my total miles would be a major pain. So back it goes.

Too bad, because its mount is rotatable 90, 180 or 270 degrees so it’s easy to mount it on your handlebar stem (or ‘gooseneck’). That was a major selling point for me.

Disappointed. I really wanted a speedometer/ odometer but I got a clock/ thermometer. I can’t get it to work. The clock thermometer works though. Maybe the sensor is bad. It seems like it would be great if it works. The “english” instructions are pretty amusing. I won’t give it a low rating because I bet it is wonderful but I got a lemon. Edited: Finally got it to work. I had to keep installing the sensor all different ways because the instructions and diagram either don’t tell you or are incorrect. Mostly accurate. I stand by my rating. Worth the money but a bit of a pain.

During the day it works pretty well, once you get it setup. The setup wasn’t hard overall, just getting the correct calibration for measuring distance was a bit tricky. The supposed backlight for dark doesn’t work when I ride early morning or at night, only got it to work if I am in the pitch black garage! So when I ride in the dark, I cannot see it at all. The install with zip ties is a bit cheap looking, but works and is easy enough to complete.
