I recently purchased a Trek Top Fuel 9.7 which has internal cable routing on most of the bike so it can be tricky replacing the derailleur or seat post adjustment cables without a tool like this. Using this tool for the first time, it took a bit of getting used to. I worked as a bicycle shop manager and my duties were full mechanic back in the day so I’m quite familiar with how bikes are maintained, but picking up a brand-new mountain bike, I hadn’t had any experience with some of the basic maintenance tasks like changing out cables. This kit works really well using the magnet especially since my frame is carbon fiber so the frame itself is non-magnetic, making it very easy to use this kit. Once I got the hang of it, it took about 20-30 minutes to replace my derailleur cable, adjust the tension, and get the bike running top-notch again. Without this tool, it would’ve been impossible to do this myself. Great tool!

My carbon frame bike has internal routing without guided channels. I’ve tried a number of things to route – fishing it through, a vacuum and strings, and trying to connect the housings together. Each has its own manner of frustration.
This tool does exactly what I need it to do. It comes with instructions, the magnet (with storage for bits), the main routing cable, bits, and a plastic storage box. The bit cover everything from hoses or housing.
You attach the housing/cable, feed it though as far as you can, and then use the magnet to draw it along. I tried it on a YT Izzo and it worked well. Great tool that works well when you need it.

This set comes in a nice plastic case to keep everything together. There’s magnets and there’s wire cable. There’s not really much to it. My gravel bike is SUPPOSED to have internal routing tubes. If not I’ll update this review with some real-world usage details.

It’s basically all you need for magnet running intermal wires on a bike. It feels a bit flimsy compared to Park Tool, but then, you’re not paying the Park Tool price. If you rarely route wires internally on your bike, this should do fine. But if you’re deep in the hobby of run a shop, i’d just get the Park Tool. So why did I get this? Well, I can’t find my Park Tool one haha!

I bought this to thread a Shimano DI2 cable through a new handlebar. It worked perfect. I doubt I could have gotten the cable through the handlebar without this product.

I was very surprised to see how well this cable routing tool works! It works just as good or even better than the Park Tool brand. The magnet is powerful enough to help you guide the cable through the frame and out the other end to make cable routing so easy. It looks like it would work time after time. No issues, as I have only used it one time so far, but I can say it made the project go so much smoother than not having one.

this tool did the job. You need it if you’re going to be pulling new cables through your frame.
The magnet was powerful enough to easily pull my new dropper post cable through my full suspension bike frame. There’s no need to spend the bigger $ on the brand name bike tools if you’re just a weekender.
The magnet piece is hollow and can stow the extra adapters/bezels inside so they don’t get lost. It also includes pieces that you can connect to hydraulic brake cables and outer shift cables, that’s a nice bonus.

I’ve seen many methods online to snake those pesky internally routed cables, but this tool is the right way of doing it. The magnets are super strong, and had no issue routing the cable through a carbon fiber frame. Not needed that often, but when needed, great to have, highly recommended!
