A folding bike sounded appealing to me because I’m not that serious of a cyclist, and I thought it would be fun to be able to put this in the back of a car, drive to a lake and go for a casual ride. This bike came folded in half and partially assembled, and was shipped in a large, sturdy cardboard box. I very carefully followed the assembly instructions, which took maybe 30 minutes, and once complete I was looking at the bike and felt pleased with its appearance and the whole experience. Then I decided to take it for the first spin, and at first it felt great. Then I decided to test the shifter, and I shifted a couple of times and then BOOM all of a sudden, the entire shifting mechanism came off the bike and ripped in to the plastic shield thing that goes over the gears. The bike is unusable now. I will be contacting Schwinn to see how well the limited lifetime warranty works, and if that fails, will be bringing it to a bike shop for repairs. But just a bad first experience, and not only was it bad, it also could have been very dangerous.
Update: I brought the bike to a Schwinn dealer, and they advised me that the shifting mechanism portion of the bike had not been assembled properly at the factory. There is some sort of “limiter” that limits you from shifting the shifter too far, past the gears that are available, and they said that that limiter was not installed properly which allowed me to shift the shifter and have it go into the wheel of the bike, break itself, and screw up my tire. They weren’t able to get any of the parts replaced under warranty despite being a defect from the factory. I wanted to still be able to use the bike, and so it cost me $140 to get it fixed. After getting it fixed, the bike works well and I enjoy it. But for such a major issue coming from one of the parts being not installed properly at the factory, which could have resulted in a big accident/safety issue, I can’t give anything above 1 star.

Schwinn’s Folding Bike is ready to go out of the box. No tools are needed to get it road ready. It took me all of 5 minutes to get the seat, handle bar, and everything into position.
The bike is comfortable for me to ride as a 5’6″ and 135 pound male. It steers nicely, brakes smoothly, and feels sturdy and robust when traversing bumps.
The bike folds down easily, even if it is a bit cumbersome. It’s still fairly large when folded but it’s much easier to store in my garage than a non-folding bike. It’s not overly heavy and easy to transport.
All in all… a fine folding bike.

I love love love this bike, already fan of Schwinn, this is my second Schwinn bike and I have three other bikes, but by far this is my most favorite for portability.
I am so glad I don’t have to worry about the bike rack anymore, easy to pick up and take to the park. I’ve already changed the seat for a more comfortable one. I think this bike weighs about 30 pounds. The little storage rack in the back comes in very handy.
This bike rides well, but of course not as well as a bike with regular size wheels, you might feel the bumps on the road a little more. Now days this is my go to bike when I go to the park for a leisurely ride.
It took me a few minutes to learn how to unfold and fold the bike, but ones I got it, it only takes a few seconds to do that. This bike is perfect for apartment living and anyone with small space.

The bike took well over an hour to assemble and some strong words, but it worked eventually. It needed a few adjustments to make sure everything actually works correctly. It folds down to really small package, but it is nearly impossible to actually put it in the enclosed bag, they must have tried to save every last inch of fabric so it had to be put in just so, and even at that it does not zip all the way. The zipper is thin and flimsy and it is already breaking up after only a few attempts which is sad, as the main reason to get a folding bike is being able to fold it and put it in the trunk, and having a bag for it would make matters so much less messy.
It gives pretty comfortable ride on paved roads. I don’t think it is meant for riding in the wild. It switches gears smoothly. The seat is comfortable. Now my husband and son fight over who gets to ride the new shiny bike and who gets the old. They seem to like it.

The design of this bike is something that is completely new to me. I’m more used to BMX style bikes. From first glance from me it looks pretty funky, but actually riding it it rides very well on all types of roads. My favorite feature of the bike, is that I can fold it in half for easy storage and portability. Assembly was as easy as other bikes that I’ve put together. it’s light way enough for me to easily move around when I’m not riding it, whether it’s folded or not. It’s a great bike, just have to get used to the overall design that is so different for me.

I would not even give it one star. Bought two of these as an anniversary gift to take on a trip with my wife. Got the bikes and then spent 3 hours on the phone with 3 different Schwinn techs and one finally admitted that there was a design defect. I can see maybe one bike, but BOTH bikes could not be locked into riding position. The correct instructions weren’t in either box nor were they online.
So, after the last tech finally tells me he wants video and photos and it’s probably a design defect, I gave up. THREE HOURS! I then had the pain of re-boxing two full bikes and all the parts; trying to pack them in a car and then driving them to UPS and dragging two 40 pound boxes across the parking lot. Do not buy these. I bought IZZO’s and they are a dream!
