For starters- I am 5’2″ around 165lbs. I have a smaller/flat butt for my size and thicker thighs. I bought an XL.
Pros: I like how how they come on my stomach because I HATE low rise pants or shorts. They do roll down a bit when I’m riding but I discredit my own body for that. The material is smooth and slick. Nice padding in butt area.
Cons: These reasons are why I docked stars. For 1) The padding in the groin/crotch area leaves much to be desired and leaves me feeling very sore even after only 10-15 miles. There is a lot of padding in the butt but the way we sit on a seat, I need more to avoid a sore crotch. This was very disappointing since I spent $50 on them and I have cheaper pairs that leave me feeling less sore at that distance.
2) The length is long. They go all the way to my knees. Slightly too long for my liking especially in 80+ degree weather. I guess its good that it protects me more from the sun and dirt that gets thrown up but I would have liked them an inch or two shorter. And I am short so maybe that is my problem. The hem at the bottom is also now very tight around my knees. They have nonslip grips but they are so loose the grip does not make good contact with my skin all the way around.
Overall, for the price these were and the brand they come from, I expected better design and quality. They are not BAD pants so that’s why I only docked 2 stars but they definitely don’t exceed my expectations for that price range.

Fit is great as well material quality. These brand makes world class products, high quality and durability, even that are slightly expensive is worth the investment.

I’ve been using perlizumi products for over 25 years and think they are the best in the business. These shorts fit comfortably, are high quality and not too expensive! I highly recommend them.

I love these shorts. I agree with the majority of reviews that these shorts run small for US standard sizes. I knew to anticipate this because I bought my first pair of Pearl Izumi bike shorts in store. I’m 5’7, athletic build and typically where a size 6 or 8/medium. A large however fits me best in these. I typically bike anywhere up to 30 miles on my road bike for a single ride about 2-3 times a week and wear these every time. While I’ve always been an athlete, I’m a beginner knowledge wise when it comes to cycling. So I don’t know all the brands out there and don’t have a true sense of what the ultimate comfort could be in a pair of bike shorts. All this said, my overall satisfaction is high, especially considering that you really can’t beat the price. I intend to buy a couple more.

I had a previous pair of these from many years back and I’m pleased these new ones fit just as well. They’re also nice and comfy for rides.

Great shorts for cycling on the road! Padding is in all the right places. Gets a little hot down there during a 60 min+ ride, but otherwise the fabric is cool throughout the rest of the short. Love the length, too.

Some reviewers had complained about the padding, but I thought it was comfortable. It is a tad thick, but not unbearably so. A drawback I found is the leg grippers…they are a tad too loose, I would prefer them to be a bit more snug. But, overall this is a fine pair of bicycling shorts. Well made.
But on its 4 label tags (yes, 4 of them), not one of them even mentioned its size…I had to look it up on my order page on Amazon…lol.

Good quality, perfect fit. I wear 28 Levi’s jeans and ordered a small. Fits true to size. Feels great. Padding is soft and doesn’t look like I have a a diaper on. Had it on for a 20 mile ride and was comfortable for the first 16 miles then my lady part got a bit sore. May have to do with my seat height. Will need to try again. I also ordered the elite version and used it on a 30 mile ride with seat height adjusted. No pain with that at all. Comparing this select short with the elite one, the elite padding and material is definitely higher quality. The leg gripper on the elite was wider too. But this one is more stretchy and comfortable at first. Depending on price difference and how long you ride, I would recommend this over the elite.
