This stand is very well made and is a pleasure to use because of it’s well-thought-out design and heavy construction. I feel like the oval steel frame tube is what makes it so functional. Park Tool specified the perfect gauge and diameter of tubing for sturdiness without making the stand ridiculously heavy.
One of my bikes is an all-carbon e-gravel bike in X-Large and I would not want to clamp the frame in the clamp for fear of fracturing or causing micro-cracks in the carbon while working on it. It does clamp the solid carbon seat-post just fine but the bike will have a nose-down attitude unless you rotate the bike and clamp the stand’s pivot tight to hold the bike level. While this works, it can be a lot of stress on the seat post and seat tube that it may not be designed to take. This is a testament to the strength of the stand, I’m just not sure I want my bike to be under so much torque while wrenching on it.
My recommendation for carbon bikes is to either clamp the seat post and leave the bike in a somewhat nose-down attitude where it naturally wants to balance, or do what I did, spend another $150 on the best bike stand accessory ever, the Silca Hirobel Frame Clamp (Google it). This clamps in the Park Tool clamp horizontally and allows the top tube of the bike to cradle on two soft pads. I know it sounds like a lot of money for minimal functionality but it’s a must for carbon frames and I would consider it a good purchase for aluminum frames as well. It also makes it easier to mount and unmount heavier bikes from the stand.
The other nice accessory I bought that increases the stability of the bike on the stand is the Park Tool handlebar stabilizer, HBH-3. It’s $50 but much nicer and more versatile than the bent wire holder that Park Tool also sells. It’s very well designed and I use it between the handlebar and the head of the bike stand which holds the handlebars from turning as well as stabilizing the bike on the stand a bit.
I know this seems like a lot of money to spend on something that merely holds bikes so they can be worked on, but it takes all the tedium out of cleaning, upgrading and maintaining a bike. I can justify it by the money I DON’T spend by having the work done at a local bike shop.
The Park Tool Bike Stand is just as good as I thought it would be with no big disappointments. While it’s not sold as a travel stand, it’s easy enough to break down small enough that it’s practical to throw it in your car if you want to work on your bike somewhere else and are not otherwise cramped for car space.

Bought for my husband and he was stoked. Best stand on the market. It’s heavy and durable and easy to put together. My husband loves it and has zero complaints.

The stand is well-designed, sturdy and works perfectly. Easy to assemble when using the on-line video. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a handlebar holder (stabilizer). It would be great if Park Tool would provide an HBH-2 holder with the stand or provide a nice discount for an HBH-3 when submitting “proof of purchase” for the stand.

There is so much I like about this repair stand but I’ll hit the highlights.
1.) This is legit heavy duty, it was able to hold my Lectric XPedition which is a heavy cargo e-bike without a single issue, the cheaper ones I tried first would either release at the holder or start to bend.
2.) It looks nice, while not all that important the blue is a very nice shade of blue
3.) Setup is easy, once its built there is nothing you need to do.
4.) Raising and lowering the stand is easy because the screws tighten with your classic pinch clamp and holds firm.
5.) The clamping mechanism is easy to use and spins nicely, you can crank on this hard to ensure nothing budges.
6.) It folds nice and compact and is easy to store.
Things to keep in mind, when unfolded the footprint is pretty large to be able to spread out the weight so you need a decent space when using this.
I know people will see the price and think its not worth it, it is, I have tried the cheaper ones and they are nowhere close to this one. This will last you a lifetime.

Bought a cheap bike stand first but returned it as it felt unstable and weak. This one is very sturdy and give me more confidence to attach my bike to.

Bought this to replace a model that supports the bike on the front forks and under the bottom bracket – great stand but needed to remove the front mudguard to get the bike on the stand) which was a pain.
The stand is easy to assemble (I used the YouTube video from Park Tools for instructions) strong, stable and has good build quality. It’s quite heavy but does fold down to a manageable size for storage. The gripping mechanism is easy to adjust and operate and keeps the bike reasonably still while working on it. It gets the bike to a good height for me (I am 196cm tall) but I do support the bike on the crossbar.
It’s not cheap but it will last for years and will provide value for money over time.
Overall, I am very happy with the stand.

I have put this purchase off for years. So glad I finally bought it! Makes all the work on bicycles much easier. It’s pricey, but it’s sturdy and functional.

I’d buy it again and will definitely purchase more of Park Tool’s product line. The product material quality is great. You can tell the people using their products are the people designing them. <3
It is built well. Every component feels complete and the wall thickness of all tubing and bracing is thick, as if it were almost over engineered and they haven’t cut all the profit out. None of it seems like it was stamped out in a massive low quality factory. It’s great!
In use, I had no problem putting my 60 and 70lb EBikes (with battery!) at 5+ feet eye level. The clamps all work well and were easy to use. I experimented and mounted it from 2 different points. Easy to set up/break down. Mobile and that rocks. No issues. Love it all.
It’s very sturdy. Don’t let the 1 star review fool you.
At 5+ ft high with a heavy EBike mounted at the frame, it is “more than” sturdy enough to do everything repair related. It does not wobble with a bike mounted or while working on one. You really have to push the bike to get it ossicating at best.
I decided to test it out with a big push. I gave it an old “1980’s car door push”. It will take it and wobble, but it doesn’t make me nervous one bit 😀 This sucker is nice.
The stand does not wobble. I think some of the poor reviews assembled the stand improperly. I attached a photo of where I think they may have missed some important assembly steps.
It’s really important that you complete step 5 and tighten down bolt 15 before jumping to step 7.
Buy one! You won’t regret it!
Thank you Park Tool for not making garbage!
