The handle is a nice length and is plenty strong not to bend under a push. There are bristles on three sides to help clean the gook off the chain. It will spray in multiple directions, but that’s to be expected. It’s a messy job!

Keeping your chain and gears clean will make them last much longer before having to be replaced, since the dirt and grit can really wear them down over time. That’s why I like to clean my bike chains really well before regreasing them, but the nylon brush I’ve been using is pretty much just an oversized toothbrush. These old toothbrush-style scrubbers can only scrub one face of the chain at a time and frequently slip off the links as I’m scrubbing. This chain brush captures the change in a groove that is surrounded on three sides by stiff bristles, which efficiently scrub three sides of the chain at one time and the bristles can’t slip off the chain links while I’m vigorously scrubbing them. The long bristles on the other end of the chain are stiff and long enough to get between the cogs on the rear cassette, which I also love to get squeaky clean. It’s a perfect solution to a problem I’ve had for many years. Well done.
