New to cycling so I don’t have much to compare this bike to. But I do recommend taking advantage of Amazon’s free shipping and assembly at your local bike shop. The shipping and assembly was quick, and I got fitted on the bike at the store. You get to build a relationship with your local bike shop and they’ve already corrected several assembly defects from the factory. I’ve only put about 70 miles on the bike so far, but it’s riding great. The seat is a bit uncomfortable, but part of that is just getting used to riding long distances, but I do imagine replacing the seat sometime soon. Overall great entry level bike for the price.

Great value bike for the equipment you get on it. I tried doing a lot of comparisons between different direct-2-consumer stores, and honestly I couldn’t find anyone that offered the same components without being around $100 more expensive. Bought this for someone sized 5’10”, though I can also ride it at 6’2″, though I would suggest getting a size up at my height. Point being you should still be able to ride your friend’s bike even in a smaller size 😛

Assembly was straightforward as always, coming almost entirely assembled from the official seller, GiantNerd. My only complaint lies in the wheels used for this bike. The spokes are flat instead of round and it made putting on the safety reflectors a bit of a pain. Minor complaint since once you’ve set it up, you’re not going to have to deal with it again.

Overall great bike, rides so smoothly. I’m jealous of my friend since I personally own the Tommaso Imola. But at least I can still ride their bike at my height!

I’ve ridden bikes before, but this one takes the cake. I rode this bike straight back to the 1700s. I didn’t know that was even possible. I got the bike out it together and on my first ride the back wheel caught on fire and startled me so much that I fell off the bike and woke up in the middle of a gun fight. I was caught between dudes wearing blue coats and dudes wearing red coats. Giant cannons were blowing trees up and all sorts of chaos was everywhere. I started pedalling as fast as my out of shape legs could go… then boom I run right into a dude with a white wig on a horse. He looked me square in the eyes and said “Son, you look out of place.” I said “Yeah bro, something here is off” then he told me to get out quick so I pedaled my little legs back to two days ago, but before that I pedaled to 1968 and invented the internet, and left all the money to myself in the future. Fast forward to two days ago… now the timeline is all messed up. But at least my wife still loves me and that argument about how I’m always blowing money on bike stuff never happened. Instead I wrote this review about a bike that changed my life, but no one will ever know because I changed the timeline.

I love my brand new bike. As I get better and better at cycling participating in races. I decided to upgrade my bike from a trinx to a Tommaso Forcella and I’m glad I did. Great quality bike for entry level cyclists, and great for the price. I made sure that it was put together by a professional and I’ve been enjoying riding it. Gears are easier to change and hills are a lot easier to ride on. I’d highly recommend.

Updated after 9 months of ownership.

This is my first bike in a decade, since middle school probably. I am using it to occasionally commute about 2 miles to work, and for cardio on weekends on paved bikeways. This bike required a fair bit of tuning to basically everything upon receipt which is typical for a new bike. That said, I think the biggest negative about this bike quality wise are the wheels, as they require more truing than I would like. Spokes randomly loosen and the wheel just doesn’t seem to naturally be true. I can get them almost perfectly true, but the wobble incessantly returns. I had to learn a lot quick in order to get this bike into functional and quiet riding condition and keep it there. Overall though the bike works pretty well. All of the minor annoyances that I had with it could be tuned in order to fix except the front derailleur. I really don’t like the triple chainring front crankset, as it seems like no matter where you adjust the derailleur to, there will be some chain rubbing. I am considering a double crankset setup because of this. All in all, only the wheels and the front crankset are the “you get what you pay for” negs that I can give this entry level road bike.

The matte black is sexy as hell and gets compliments.

    FIT:
I’m 5′ 10.75″ with a 33.5″ inseam. My inseam is long for my height, meaning that I have long legs and arms for my height. I got a size large, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. It definitely works for me, but something tells me that a size medium might’ve been better. The large comes with a 120mm handlebar stem, so I replaced that with a 95mm stem to save me 2.5cm. I also have a 6′ 5″ wingspan so that helps as well. I’m honestly not sure if a medium would’ve been better for me. The problem is that my triceps seem to get more tired than I’d like, but I’m not sure if this is an encurance/fitness thing. I’ve heard that it’s better to size down than size up when it comes to bicycles. Overall, I would just suggest that if you’re at the top of a sizing range, DO NOT size up unless you have long arms (a wingspan that is 3″+ longer than your height), have a long inseam for your height, and plan on riding aggressively bent over. Otherwise, stick with the sizing chart and do not size up if you’re at the top of a sizing range.

Love the bike. It’s my 5th season. Comfortable and light. The only maintenance required is regular chain lubing. Reliable and fun!
