Great product… but not for what I wanted to do with it. This pouch will not fit a 29” or 27.5” mountain bike tube. It will fit a 28-40c road (gravel) bike tube as long as you don’t put anything else in the pouch. It will fit a 25c road bike tube with tools to change and inflate that tube.

This Xlab product doesn’t fit well in Xlab brand rear bottle carriers fyi. You have to really shove it in there and it still sticks up further than I’d like. It fell out once because I didn’t shove it down far enough but I’m nervous I’ll break the carrier cage in the process.

Fits my 38mm tire, patch kits, 3 levers, multi tool and 2-3 fig Newtons sized bars. With a basic $7 aluminum cage it’s secure and rattle free – exterior is grippy feeling. The zipper head fits under the cage so it can’t vibrate, long zipper side of the bag fits the groove in the bottle mount. Perfect, bike feels zippier out of the saddle with the weight down low and off the seat.
Update: a couple months in and this is holding up great. Inside stays dust free and zippers are holding up well.

Its very very usable, for long rides when I need 2 bottle cage to use for drinks, I can easily use my shirts back pocket. For short rides it covers all my saddle bag, which I am not using anymore. Definitely recommend it.

Get everything you need for a ride with room to spare. Fits tightly into most holders so it won’t get ejected. You aren’t going to fit anything but the smallest of phones in here so it is not for that, but wouldn’t fit in any holders if it was much bigger. Like everything X-lab makes it is very well made and durable. Great for long and short rides.

This tools keg carrier is way more convenient that bottle style carriers. Will buy for replacements and for friends gifts.

I used to run a micro sized saddle bag for the longest time, and after getting a new dropper post I needed to look for a new way to carry my multi-tool, some med stuff, and my wallet & keys. My goal was to look for something sleek discreet looking, and I really didn’t want another bag hanging from my frame. I searched for bottle cage packs and found a bunch of them, and even bought a couple on Amazon that looked discreet (all black carbon fiber look), but when I got them they were really big – about the same size as tall 28oz water bottle that I have. Then I came across the XLAB Gear Box and decided to give it a try.
The XLAB Gear Box is the perfect shape and looks very minimal & discreet looking. It’s literally the same size as a soda can, and is still big enough to carry all of my stuff. It fits perfectly & snugly in my water bottle cage, with no worry about it coming out on my harder rides. The only thing that I didn’t like was the big bright white logos on both sides, but some WD40 on a rag easily wiped it off for a clean black carbon fiber look. Now it doesn’t stand out at all, nor does it look like you’re carrying a pouch on the bike, as you can see in my pictures.
The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars was due to the price. This thing cost me $27, when every other water bottle cage pouch on Amazon costs around $10, but they’re also bigger in size. Otherwise, this is the perfect sized pouch / gear box / keg box out there, and I was willing to pay to higher price to get this for my bike.
