This is my second Kicker Core, the first one lasted about a year and died, Wahoo replaced with a refurbished unit due to bad board, that one also lasted about a year, I see a pattern. The original price was $899.00. About a year into the second one, guess what – it died again. I would recommend another brand. They have lowered there price, but it’s not worth it for 12 months of use.

I purchased the Kickr Core Zwift One with the intention of subscribing to Zwift. By the time it arrived, I had changed my mind and decided to use the ROUVY app instead. This meant that I needed to remove the Zwift hub and install my own 11speed cassette. Fortunately, that was an easy task. All it required was a lock ring tool and chain whip. Just be sure to use the lock ring that comes with your cassette when installing. The Zwift lock ring is a slightly larger diameter and will cause the chain to skip. Assembly and setup instructions are easy to follow. It comes with adapters for both skewers and thru axles. Once it was assembled I ran into an issue connecting the Bluetooth. Neither my iPhone or pc could find the Bluetooth connection. Eventually I downloaded the LightBlue app to my phone and was then able to connect the Bluetooth. I haven’t had any further connectivity issues. Pairing the device with the ROUVY app was easy and I’ve no issues since I started using it. Definitely an upgrade over my old resistance trainer. I’ll make good use out of the setup over the cold winter months and still be in reasonable cycling condition come Spring.
