It’s not super loud, but OK. Definitely not for traffic but perfect for riding in parks.
When I tried to install it on the hood of my 105 STI shifter it scratched the rubber. Didn’t do anything major, but I put a piece of tape under it anyway.
The mounting side of the bell body is very curved- really intended for narrower/standard handlebars. I eventually figured out that I should mount it lower, so it sits below the main body of the hood. I was expecting to mount it flush/perpendicular to the main rubber body.
The main problem is in that position the plastic strap will flex from and may interfere with braking. On my first ride I was very happy that the bell seemed very secure and was easily accessible both from the hoods and when in the drops. But I was also wondering why my front brake felt weird and wasn’t working well. Basically you have to be careful to not tighten the bell strap too much. You have to find a balance between it not moving around but still able to flex and be loose enough to not interfere with the brake. This is only an issue when mounting to road bike hoods- and perhaps may not be a problem for other braking/shifting systems.
I really wish there were some installation instructions or a link to an installation video on the package. Would have saved some time fiddling with it to get it mounted and to ring properly. It’s not a difficult installation- but it is a bit quirky/fiddly and I didn’t expect that from a simple accessory.
The bell is fine- it may not be the loudest or cheapest out there – but it is a great idea. This is your only choice I know of if you want a bell on the hood. For that reason alone it may be worth dealing with the installation quirks.

This will quickly make a Mr. Bean bell ringer out of you! The sound is so delightful and has a long sustain. Easy to quickly quiet with just another touch. You can also learn to control the volume of your ring to be a bit less startling, say if you are carefully passing older folks closely.
My bike has grip shifters, but I rarely come out of 2nd gear (large cogs) so I have it mounted directly on that hand and it fits snug. So nice to not have to let go of my handgrips just to alert others of my passing them.
The black color blends nicely, so it won’t attract thieves. The plastic is quite thick and sturdy, but my bike is stored inside, so I’m not sure how durable it is left in the elements over time. Overall, a very good value for your money.

I could not understand how to get it to ring; as I was holding the globe where the bell makes it’s sound
Once it was on my handlebars it is strategically located and easy to use; and has plenty of volume.

This bell is inexpensive and thoughtfully designed. I have mine mounted on Essi foam handgrips right below the left brake lever, allowing me to brake and ring the bell with my thumb. It was easy to install and secure. The tone is clear, loud, and sustained. It is small and unobtrusive. There are some beautiful bells on the market but I found them to be impractical and unable to fit where they need to be mounted to be effective. I can’t speak to its durability but am happy with it so far.

Bought this for my new Charge Plug I use for a touring bike, as sounding devices are required on certain trails I frequent with that bike.
The design has some very good and slightly bad elements to it. It’s small, and plenty loud so that’s a plus. The band mount is nice, neat and compact way of attaching to varying diameter bars/grips. Also allows you to mount right next to/on your STI shifters. out of sight and stealthy.
However, I have a few minor gripes. One – the bell/ringer cannot be rotated on the band. The ringer is always perpendicular to the bar where it’s mounted – this makes it tricky if not impossible to get just right when mounting near the STI levers. Unless that is you actually wrap the band around the brake hood, which is sloppy and uncomfortable. I tried wrapping it under the brake hood, but that ends up bending the hood out of shape. Instead I finally settled on putting it on the RIGHT side, clamped directly under the shifter. I can get to it with my right thumb in the hoods.
Trigger Bell would do well to allow the trigger/bell to rotate on the mount band, this would solve a lot of problems for STI users, even though it’s not needed for riders on flat bars. Perhaps a future second version for a dollar or two more?
Secondly – it’s a flat head screw that adjusts the band. This isn’t the 1950’s, give us a Phillips head screw or even better, an Allen head screw since every other screw/bolt on most bikes are hex keyed! I don’t want or need to bother with another tool at my workbench. 4mm hex head and we’re golden.

Ideal for drop-down handles. Fits very well large break levers. Intalled it on the left side and can trigger bell with left thumb. Sound is crisp and clear. Not too lound to bother or harrass people. At close to $40 in Canada, a bit too expensive though…

I have several bikes and have installed the small (approx. 1 inch diameter) bells that you can readily find packaged as a set of 2 for under $10 or so. I love the tone of those bells. They are reasonably durable, have loud but pleasant double ding tones, and are small enough to position for use on either side of all my flat bar bikes; however, they don’t fit the larger diameter drop bars on my road/gravel bike. This one does! It was super easy to install snuggly and inconspicuously on the left side hood of my bike’s drop bars (I’m not sure if it will install/work on the right hood of drop bars). It has a very pleasant single ding tone that is clear and loud enough to be heard from a good distance even on a busy greenway. If you’re tired of calling out “ON YOUR LEFT”, you’ll love this and I suspect many of the people you pass on the trail will too. You can tell the people who designed this bell actually ride drop bar bikes. While it may be a bit more expensive than my trusty, tried-n-true double-dingers, i’m pleased to say (after 1000 miles of use) I can’t imagine finding another bell this close to PERFECT for a drop bar bike at such a reasonable price.
