The case that comes with the Tandem t:slim is notorious for constantly falling off. If one has short tubing, it pulls on the skin, and with longer tubing, the pump goes crashing into the floor. Many times per day! This clip is much stronger, and just stays on (the waistband). The rotating feature is very helpful to view the screen, more easily, and decide which way you want your pump with your clothing.

This item is needed by many diabetics with the Tandem Mini pump. I have had 3 in the last 2 years. Functionally, it is well designed and works well. My major complaints about it are 2: the material it is made from, and the cost. The material is thin plastic that breaks easily. I am 75 yo and not very active, so my wear and tear on this holster is nothing like what it will be for a younger active person. I have broken 2 of these holders just going through my daily routine. The plastic is just too thin for everyday use in my opinion. Which brings me to the cost, which is, and has been $30 for some time now. My guess is that it is likely made in China for probably $2-3 each. Why this price point to diabetics, whose medical bills are already high? To me, a fair price would be $10-12. It is very over-priced.

Updated Review: Don’t buy this case it breaks. I have have gone through two of these cilps now and they both broke in the same exact spot. I tried to tell tandem the clip part of the gas has an issues and a weakness, but they didn’t care. I also tried to get them to replace the one that originally broke. They did replace it but they didn’t want to. I had to talk to a manager and even then it was difficult and a strange conversation. They just kept telling me about the pump warranty. I knew this wasn’t covered under the pump warranty and stated that but I still wanted a replacement since it broke in less then 6 months. Well here we are with the replacement case and the clip broke again. I didn’t rotate the clip very often. Always left the pump horizontally.
Original review: This clip case is so much better than the original one Tandem gave out. The originally one used to fall so I had to always place it on a belt. This clip though stays on. I have only had it fall off once. It stays on my yoga pants which was a huge issue with the previous clip case. I also like that you can choose the orientation you want the pump to be at when it’s on your hip or whoever you place it and it’s easy. The other clip was not easy to change the orientation of. I would highly recommend this case to others if you are looking for something that has a better hold on any kind of pants, shorts, fabric. It is a little bulky though so I have it off when I wear a dress and put my pump elsewhere. I had to do this with the other clip case so it’s not that big of a deal.

I’ve used this clip a couple times now and it’s good. Way better than the metal belt clip Tamdam gives you. I hated that clip, flimsy and so hard to take the pump out. Sometimes this clip is hard to take off the waist band, which i guess is a thing! I wear this clip when my pants don’t have pockets or when my pump site and CGM site are on opposite sides until I need to change a site.

Honestly, it’s great, when it works. I’ve never had buy one of these with Medtronic. It came with the pump and was extremely versatile, which is what we need as type 1’s. I mean, it’s already challenging having the dis-ease. I was pretty annoyed that after my insurance paying over $3000 for my tslin, a durable & versatile clip like this one wasn’t included.
After I sucked up the fact that I had to spend $30 for one, I was fine. It was great! It didn’t seem as durable and I did see people post that their clip broke after about seven months of usage, however… I hoped mine would be the exception…
Well here I am… 7 months in… and my clip broke while I was walking through security dealing with TSA at the airport earlier today. It literally broke into pieces so now I either have to buy a new one or not. I would like one complementary one so that I don’t have to purchase one of these every six months, so if customer service is reading this, please get in contact with me because I’ve tried to get in contact with you and I am not having any success.
It works great when it works and honestly within the last couple of weeks the screw started to move back-and-forth so I knew the clip was going to need to be replaced very soon. I guess it held out for as long as it could. Please swnd me a replacement. Thanks.
Just broke again… I’m on my 2nd clip this year and I need another… after 5ish months? This is ridiculous!

I’ve had a t:slim X2 pump for a few years now and have broken countless belt clips. The more durable belt clips that I’ve tried tended to be too rigid and made it difficult to interact with my pump. The t:holster has been a revelation – it’s more durable than most clips I’ve tried but allows much greater freedom than those rigid clips. The ability to rotate it makes it much more flexible to use on the go. It’s not unbreakable but it’s certainly the best balance i’f found between durability and usability.
