I broke mine during quarantine and was gaining weight until this replacement item was delivered to my door. Easy to replace and install, much better than the one that came with my trainer.

Needed to replace a stripped one, and grateful it could be replaced instead of needing a new trainer!

My road bike stopped shifting (busted cable), so I have been using the CycleOps Trainer to “ride”. One fine Sunday morning I couldn’t get any resistance. The screw was stripped. After some research, it appears that was happening to people. It has been 8 years… so, I guess it was bound to happen. Purchased this “upgraded and redesigned” clutch. Works perfectly. I’ll be riding my comfort bike in the living room tomorrow… and hopefully back on the road when my road bike comes back from the shop. This piece saved the day!

Replaced my old original one which was stripped, it works well. Like the clutch feature so you know when it’s tight enough.

I bought the trainer 8 years ago and since then I felt that the clutch knob did not fits tight. This Saris replacement works much better than the original one. It’s a shame that I waited so long time to experience a good work in the trainer.

I got this for a Cycleops Magneto trainer I bought around 2005. If I use the clutch function it’s way too tight, but works fine if you tighten it less and go by feel/tire slippage like the original.

I purchased this to replace the “Quick Cam Lever” on my 2007 CycleOps Magneto trainer. The cam lever has a tendency to get deformed where it contacts the hard plastic plate. I’ve gone through a couple now, and I don’t even use the trainer that much. I’m glad to see that they replaced this lever with this torque-limiting knob. It works works wonderfully. Easy to apply the correct pressure to the tire, as it will click once the proper torque is reached. It’s a bit tricky to install, as you have to maneuver the L-bracket through the slot in the plastic resistance plate and then to the securing guides on the trainer frame. To make this easier, I took the bike off the frame, unscrewed the knob from the L-bolt and let the plastic resistance plate go down to the floor. Then, I installed the “L” portion of the bolt onto the frame. I then rotated the resistance plate back into position and guided the threaded portion of the L-bolt through the plate slot. Once the bolt was through the slot, I held the resistance plate in place, and screwed on the knob. Sounds complicated, apologies, but don’t try to install the L-bolt with the knob still attached. It will be a pain if even possible.

Works great. I added the clutch system a few years ago and it quit working. Replaced the clutch and good as new!

I bought this as a replacement for the basic one that came with the trainer that ended up getting stripped out after a lot of use. This works as a replacement/upgrade for the older “dumb” mag trainer. A little pricey for what it is though.
