I kid you not, the minute I took the plastic out from the battery this thing started going off by itself. I thought perhaps it was sensitive b/c I was touching the button by accident. Then it went off while I was trying to put it on my bike. And the alarms kept changing. Again, I assumed it was because I was touching the button somehow due to the fact that it was difficult to get it on the bike and I was pulling the rubber so I thought I was in advertently hitting the button. But by the time I finally got it on the bike I realized it was defective and the alarms were going off by themselves – rotating through the sounds. So I stopped touching it and was going to leave it on my bike until tomorrow until I could figure out what was going on. Then while I’m watching TV, eating dinner the bell alarm started going off. It startled me, and at first I thought it was from the TV. But then the sound kept changing and I realized it wasn’t the TV. While I started taking it off my bike it continued to go off. I live in an apartment building and it’s 9:30 at night. I had to put tape over the speaker and stuff in my couch to make sure I didn’t wake me up in the middle of the night.
I laugh as I write this because it’s something out of a movie but this thing is 100% defective. I’ve already requested a refund.

Opened it up and tried it twice. The second time I got nothing. It seemed loud which was promising. So I’m getting a replacement and hopefully It’ll stand the test of time. Update will follow. Received a replacement. It works well now and has different sounds that gets attention from pedestrians and motorists without being obnoxious. So I’m changing my opinion. Happy camper!

Just received this item, and had to order a replacement. Pressing the button to activate did absolutely nothing. It was DOA! I can see what some complained about regarding charging. There is NO charging port, and apparently no way to change the battery. Apparently this is a self-contained unit and when the battery dies, it is just dead and you have to purchase a replacement. Cannot say that I am happy about that and most likely would not purchase again, due to this. I also would hesitate to recommend the item for purchase, as you do not know how ‘fresh’ the battery is in it. Your usage period would be totally determined by how fresh the battery was, when you received it. You are essentially rolling the dice here.

UPDATE:
In the initial review, above, you pretty much get my initial reaction to this item. I then started looking closely at the item, finding that I could pull back the rubber covering from the item. Well, I kept pulling, to see what was underneath the covering. I found a ‘battery tab’, where you have to pull a covering item, which had been placed to prevent the battery from making contact and draining. I pulled the covering out, and tried the whistle, now that the battery was making contact. The horn worked!! BTW, there is a battery ‘tray’, so you CAN replace the battery, when needed. Without instructions it just was not obvious as to what was happening. I imagine others have also returned the item, thinking it did not work, due to the battery being prevented from being operational, until you removed the material preventing the battery from making contact. The replacement that I requested has already been shipped, so I could not cancel it. I will just keep both of them, and just have a spare.
I would now give the item a FIVE STAR rating.

Não tem o sinal alto da propaganda. Só um barulho de passarinho ou de árbitro.

I purchased two of these… one worked… the other did not. The one that worked though always moves and is not right against the handle bars. Not very loud either. I’m returning them both.Arrived BROKEN…DO NOT BUY!!!!! They are JUNK! and no communication from the seller. THAT should tell you something!

Works well, easily installed, only wish there was a volume control as the sound I prefer using is much quieter than the other two.

I absolutely love this bike bell especially when I tell you how I used it. My husband recently spent a total of 26 days in hospital/skilled nursing due to Congestive Heart Failure. Since returning home he needs assistance in getting to bed and bathroom. I have added rails to the bed where he is resting and I am sleeping in a separate room to allow him room to move and be comfy. He also suffers from Parkinson’s disease which has affected his speech. In the event that he should need me during the night, he can simply press button and because it has 3 different tones and volume control I can hear him and respond. It is neat and convenient. I have since ordered a 2nd bell to place on potty chair in bathroom. Thank you!

Great bell with 3 noises. However it does NOT project well while cycling medium or fast paced – therefore 80%+ of folks don’t hear it or notice it as a warning bell.
Had to buy another bell instead.
It’s better perhaps for a kids bike for fun or for slower-moving cyclists.

Makes three different sounds to choose from. Handy safety device.

And this one is no exception. It’s all about the design. Having one button matters. My previous horn had 3 buttons and the one to sound the horn was in the middle. It was hard to hit reliably without looking as is the case 90% of the time. This ROCKBROS horn is great that way, there’s only one button and can be found fast by feel.
The next great design feature is the whistle sound. It sounds like a police whistle and gets the attention of drivers. This unit is not as loud as my previous horn but it is adequate.
Don’t expect this to stay put on the handlebars with only the rubber strap. In my experience, no rubber strap you can pull tight without breaking is strong enough to hold the horn in place when you sound the alarm. Fortunately, this unit rests against my brake lever at an acceptable angle. YMMV.
About the lack of rechargable battery, I have come around to it. I think this design holds up to the weather better; especially when transported at highway speeds on a rack. I think that was a factor in the demise of my previous horn.
