This Rear bike rack is solid, and seems sturdy after fitting. I have placed one on my daughter’s 26″ bike, and another on my other daughter’s 20″ bike – the advice says it will not fit on smaller bike, but so long as the seat post is high enough, and will sit higher than the top of rear wheel by around 4-5″, it should fit on. They both like it and prefer not having to carry their school bags on their back. We added a wire basket on top of both, and this fit on fairly easily – just need to make sure it is all the way back on the smaller bike so it doesn’t get in the way of the seat. It looks like it would also allow pannier bags, if you prefer, but I have not tried this.

Overall, good investment, and we will be moving them to the new bikes when my kids outgrow their current ones.

This product is extremely strong and lightweight. Made from aluminum and has a beautiful black finish. Best rack I’ve seen in years.

Update: rode my bike to work to test out how this impacts the gear functionality and in short this product really negatively impacted the gear shifting. I would shift up or down and it would not shift immediately and would randomly delay shifting. This really threw me off and caused me to slip a few times due to being unable to anticipate the gear shift. Will be returning.

The first issue with this product is it can hinder the gear shifters on your bike. The picture smartly conceals the gear line and pinch point, so I took a picture to display it. I have a Schwinn bike and the telescopic side bracket pinches the gear. I noticed this almost immediately on a test run and downshifting – it literally did not let me downshift. This is a big issue. The gear lines for my bike are welded to the bike itself, so the brackets have to fit around them to not impede the gear shifting.

Although it is not very difficult to assemble this bike rack, the instructions are poor and difficult to follow. This worries me as I want to ensure the product is correctly installed, particularly if I am trusting it to hold any cargo…

Speaking of holding cargo..NO way of keeping it to stay on top. I’m not sure what the folks at HOMEE were thinking when manufacturing this, but there is absolutely no way product can simply balance on top. The bungee cord provided has no instructions as to how to actually set it up – it’s possible I am dumb and it is easy to do. What i’m getting at is: sure, it might be able to handle 110 lbs, but there is NO way this product can keep the 110 lbs of cargo on the rack without it falling off, especially with the flimsy cord provided.

They do NOT provide tools (or at least did not for me).

I wanted to use this a few times before writing a review just to make sure it continued working as some other reviews had stated it broke after using it 1-3 times. I am happy to report that has not happened.

I purchased this item to help save money on gas. I use it to bike local errands like beer runs, trip to the liquor store, farmers market etc etc. it’s job is to hold my cargo and it does it well. I used zip ties and attached a collapsible milk crate to it so it’s more “aero” en route to my destination.

I have ridden on bumpy trails with a full crate of groceries, bunny hopped onto curbs and everything in between and it does its job well.

That being said, there are 2 very important things I need to share about this rack.

Situational use: I would not recommend using this on your bike unless you actually need it for that ride. The reason being how it gets hooked up IF left unattended could create an issue. Everything is attached to your bike via tightening clamps with Alan wrenches. A number of reviews mentioned the legs breaking or screws popping off after a couple days riding and this is why. If you keep it on full time, check the screws every day. That being said, taking this on and off your bike takes about 5 minutes. In most cases you know when you’ll need to run errands on your bike so just take a couple minutes to set it up the night before.

The second item: DONT put 110lbs on this. The listing states it can take 110lbs. Im not willing to test that because Im not sure my bike could handle me PLUS another 110lbs on top of that. However for a 6 pack of beer and some produce etc it won’t break a sweat!

Finally, weight. This rack is strong and does its job well but I would not consider it a lightweight. But let’s be honest, once you start putting stuff on it that lightweight listing won’t really matter.

Great rack but not meant for daily use. Perfect for situational use as needed. Remove from your bike for rides when it’s not needed.

My bike I installed this on is a fold up bike. It often gets put into the back of my vehicle. This installed fine and everything. Until I guess one day it got a little bent? The seat attachment is very wobbly, and nothing I can do will fix that. Now it rests on top of the back tire. I cannot have that, so I had to remove it. But it was great until then! Very sturdy.
