Very good product! Applied it on a clean chain and chain noise and friction was significantly reduced as compared to my other chain lubes.

Effective but follow Sheldon Browns method for oiling your chain.
I can’t believe how many idiots on Youtube just spraying willy-nilly way too much all over.
    Use an oil can.

I use this on my road bike and prefer it to teflon/wax based dry lubricants or wet lubricants. Dry lubricants (those where the solvent dries and leaves a lubricating residue of teflon or was) need to be applied very often and, in my mind, result in very rapid chain wear. Wet lubricants attract lots of dirt, again resulting in rapid drive chain wear.

This lubricant is like a wet lubricant, but works best if applied to a degreased chain. It is also super important to wipe all excess lubricant, and even to wipe the chain after the first few rides. Using a microfiber rag works well, in my experience, to get off excess lube and dirt. If used that way, less dirt accumulates and the chain seems to last longer.

It seems to work o.k. on a mountain bike, but I have decided to use their original lube as it is a little heavier and I think might work better when it gets wet. I’m not sure that this is the ultimate solution to chain lubrication (see zerofrictioncycling.com.au), but I like it lot better than the wet or dry lubes I have used before. I think the next time I need a cassette replacement I’m going to give hot wax a try.

    PROS:
    -it lubes great
    -makes my drivetrain super quiet
-don’t have to put a ton of it on

    CONS:
-its the messiest lube ive ever used
-difficult to wash off my skin
    -gets everywhere on my bike
-have to keep wiping the excess oil off the chain

Overall, the MESS OUTWEIGHS the BENEFIT….. i will be switching back to Squirt Lube when I finish this bottle.

I’ve tried lots of lubes over the decades and this is my favorite so far. Lots of pros and a few minor cons that I take care of with regular maintenance.

    Pros:
    * Goes on easy. It’s thin enough to dispense onto individual links and soak into the chain but thick enough so it doesn’t drip everywhere.
    * Slick and quiet with perfect shifting.
    * Doesn’t have a strong smell. Some lubes I’ve used have stunk up the whole garage.
    * Super easy to clean. I’ve had good success with generic orange cleaner and alcohol, both in the Park CM-5.2 Cyclone Chain Scrubber for years and now an ultrasonic cleaner.

    Cons:
    * Picks up road grime pretty quickly. In 100 miles your chain will be black.
    * Chain starts squeaking “clean me” at around 100 miles.
    * Not designed for wet so one long ride in the rain means a cleaning.

Best lube I’ve used, new X formula is even better! I use the regular for mud & regular trail riding, and lite for dusty months & road riding. Follow the instructions and you can go wrong!

It IS an improvement of original Dumonde Tech Chain Lube………., THE hands down best chain lube, period.

This was recommended to me by one of the guys I work with who is SERIOUS about mountain biking. Since I’m not even close to that serious the first thing I asked him was how easy is this to use? When he let me know its easy enough I need to teach my kids to help apply it I was sold. My 9 year old’s now help apply this all all the bikes in the family.

Have been using it now for ~ 6 weeks and it just works. Apply as the instructions say and worries about bike chain lubrication are gone.

If you want simple, easy to use good product this is for you.
