What an incredible bike so happy with my purchase! –
Just received my Bike and I love it! Nice and sturdy pretty fast and well built. The brakes are squeaky which I found to be true when reading other reviews. I’ll replace them if it becomes a problem of some sort. Otherwise, I love the look of it. The price is reasonable for such a well-built bike. I can’t wait to take it on a Bike trail.

I ordered this bike in November when the repair bill for my 2020 Electra Townie 7D GO! finally began to fail at 10,000 miles. The most the bike shop had seen on that model. The repair bill for said bike was a whopping $1500 which is what I paid for it new in 2020.
So I went to amazon, I’d been wanting a more capable, fat tire as I live in western Idaho with severe winters and while the Townie handled admirably in conditions it was never intended for, her motor had finally given up the ghost after 3 years of commuting, all year round in snow up to two feet.
First things first, some assembly required, I worked at a hardware store when this machine was delivered to me so I had no issue with assembly with some patience. I never had any problems with bad inner tubes when I got her.
She arrived in November, when I got her, my commute was 8 miles of untended, unmaintained concrete bicycle trails. The first thing I noticed off the bat was how well the throttle outperformed the PAS system on the townie. Being able to ease into acceleration as opposed to having it kick on made riding so much easier in the 2 feet of snow the trail has all winter, which lasts from October until about May here.
The tires, while cheap, CST, models were adequate for the most part, although she did suffer some slippage causing accidents on Ice and once or twice on snow. Highly recommend swapping out the tires when possible, which I will be doing soon as she has just hit 2,000 miles at the time of writing this. 8/19/2024
Secondly, if you’re doing any serious commuting, meaning if you’re not a dainty fair-weather rider who only rides in the summer, then you will want a better headlight. The stock headlight is adequate for being seen, but you will not see well by it. I took mine off (which removes the horn by the way, the horn is located in the light) with this model https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CF67LYBW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title Much brighter, drivers will definitely see you and most importantly, even in the dead of winter you will be able to see the ground more than adequately.
Onto the battery, I ride on assist 4 most of the time and during the warm season I have been able to get close to 16-19 miles on a full charge with very liberal throttle usage. (I know longer pedal as I have a very physical job and do not ride a bike for exercise.) In the winter months, if you live somewhere cold, as I do, where temps will regularly reach -15 degrees fahrenheit, you can expect anywhere from 9-12 miles or less. That said, the battery handles extremely well in the winter, better than expected, but I would recommend bringing your charger to work with you if you have a several mile commute as I do in the winter so that you’re not left stranded and cold miles from home which has yet to happen to me. (believe you me, this bike is heavy and you don’t want to be walking that far pushing it in the winter.)
As of the last few months, I’ve experienced two rear tire tube failures, as a result of the mostly bald rear tire, which is not the manufacturers fault at all. Tires wear and they need to be replaced and I have yet to do so. The front tire is handling well.
The brakes leave a bit to be desired but that’s a cheap fix and to be fair, I regularly haul up to fifty pounds in the milk crate I’ve installed on the seat extension, (which is 25 pounds over the recommended weight limit for it. It’s held up fantastically.)
My drivetrain chain did not come pre-coated with grease and had rusted stuck around January, which was fine by me as I have not, nor do I ever intend to pedal this bike.
I’ve ridden this bike in the mud, snow, severe rain, gravel, paved bike trail and the road which is where most of my riding takes place. It handles great for the price and even though the motor isn’t the strongest, it has been more than adequate for me (5’10, 130 pounds) and groceries, up to 55 pounds.
Always take the battery inside when the weather is bad and I’d recommend applying diaelectric grease to the terminals on the frame and the battery to help preserve them as I did notice some rust in February this year 2024. Easy fix.
The bike computer mounts broke during a nasty wreck and the the brake-light activation cable also broke during said wreck but it hasn’t effected the performance at all.
For a bike I bought to replace a $1500 trek bike it has completely met and exceeded all of my expectations and I’m expecting to probably get another 7,000-8,000 miles on her.
Also, a new insurance law passed, at least in my state and no LBS will touch it, so do your research on that one. The government is enacting policies on Electric Bikes, similarly to the ones they impose on Electric Cars to try and stop China from having a monopoly.
I’m not the most mechanically savvy but this bike has yet to present me with an issue I haven’t been able to fix, if I chose to fix it.
Absolutely beyond impressed. I adore my Gunther. I would highly recommend this to the casual fair-weather rider, who will run stop signs, redlights and fly against traffic on the rare occasion they do decide to leave the sidewalk and to serious commuters, who have respect for the rules of the road and other users.
Five stars, Ouxi. Very well done for the price.

I love the speed, comfort, size, and how easy to build and operate the bike. This bike did come with a defective headlight but i reached out to the company and within only a few hours they responded and were very understanding of the situation and very quickly sent a replacement that arrived in less than a week and im so to have bought the bike from them. The bike functional for many things like putting a crate on the second seat and carrying things in it and taking a second person on a joy ride. This review may seem untrue and unrealistic but I’m just being honest so if you don’t believe then so be it. I was thinking about getting a Ridstar but I’ve realized that the Ouxi V8 was honestly the better option. The weight of the bike isn’t too much or too little. Also the power of the bike is perfect. The only complaint is how the battery doesn’t last me as long as I’d like but it’s not that big of an issue because i can ride for about 2-3 hours (without holding the throttle constantly). But overall the bike and the company is incredible and high quality. You definitely get your moneys worth! I highly recommend!

Do not purchase this item. Within five seconds of my son riding it, the tube blew out and he almost hurt himself. I reached out to customer service. They offered another tube. However, the reviews for the tube show that they constantly break. I expressed I wanted to return the bike and they gave me a label with postage necessary, which would’ve cost almost 500 to return. Amazon said they would help and that was a whole other runaround for weeks, but when I asked the seller for the prepaid label, they continued to run me in circles until one day, they replied that they were on a national holiday obviously not in this country. I continued to get ran around and told a prepaid label is not available, but I can wait for it to be available. If not, I should sell the bike on my own. I ended up having to pay the shipping and get Amazon to reimburse me and then do a dispute on my credit card for the purchase. The address that they give you to return the bike cannot be found in UPS‘s computer so that was a whole other problem. They are the only ones that ship due to the size and weight of the package.
