Persnickety Twerk Pony –
I’ve been riding, repairing, and building/customizing bikes for a couple decades now, so I’m cleaning chains and other drivetrain parts all the time. Hence, I go through cleaning brushes pretty regularly. This set includes three brushes with a variety of uses and applications, and they’re well suited to their purpose. The overall composition feels cheap, but they’re brushes meant for cleaning gnarly bikes parts, so they’re exactly as fancy as they need to be. One of the brushes is a fairly standard brush; nothing remarkable to say about. The circular/U-shaped brush was especially useful, as the tines can be opened and then squeezed down to contour to the chain, which can then be pedaled (if the bike is up in a repair stand, anyway), allowing comprehensive scrubbing of the chain while it’s in motion. The weirdly shaped brush was also super useful for getting into nooks, crannies, janky angles, and crevices. Used it to clean the inside of a few hollow bolts, up under a saddle, and all along the surfaces of a rear fixed sprocket. Great tool with a bizarre number of uses. Only downside besides the cheap plastic is that the set I received smelled crazy strongly of cologne or some other artificial fragrance. I have an incredibly sensitive nose and can’t stand synthetic fragrances, so this was definitely unwelcome. Not sure if it’s on the manufacturer’s end or on Amazon’s, but something to be aware of either way.

– Affordable/inexpensive

– Cheap plastic that will probably fatigue and break over time
– Powerful synthetic fragrance/odor on packaging and brushes themselves

– Glad I got these. I’ll use them all the time.
