Packaging was extremely flimsy (essentially a zip lock bag with tape on it)
Parts were clearly used and worn
One of the main arms that attaches to the bike was missing from the package

Have an old 20″ Schwinn Stingray bike that I wanted to add training wheels on. Had bought a set from Bell but even though these say they are for 20″ wheels they were too short. Ordered these. When they arrived promptly I saw they were considerable heavier duty than the Bell ones. The issue was the right one was bent slightly such that I couldn’t fasten to the spindle and the fram. The left mounted grest but not the right. It took several whacks with a rubber mallet and some bending in a machine vise to get it back in line. The problem with the left one was that it could not accomodate the coaster brake. I had to grind off part of the braket to get it to fit. The positive note is that there was plenty of hole options for both the outriggers and the wheel positions so that once I got them mounted to the bike I was able to adjust very precisely. Overall I’m happy with the purchase it just took longer and required more effort than it should have.

These are extremely sturdy compared to most (not a flimsy metal) they worked for my application with a bit of modification (had to bend the cross brace a bit on the non gear side due to a kickstand that I had to remove) the up and down adjustment was spot on the wheels are basic cheapos but there training wheels and could probably be swapped out with a pair of the flashy ones that you probably already purchased that didn’t fit originally 😉

The wheels worked great with my son’s Trek 6-gear bike. Other wheels explicitly stated that they were not going to fit it.

The wheels are sturdy, easy enough to install (I mean, I did not expect a clip-on, there is some work involved) and functional.

Now we can ride together in the park

Terrible product the machining of the nuts are horrible put the spacer nut or whatever they hell the call it, it stripped first install and now I can’t even get the nut off POS save your the money. And also they give you this washer that aren’t even the appropriate size only good for the wheels

My wife bought a (barely) used bike from a friend. I didn’t know until after she got it home, that it has gears so the training wheels that I had bought in advance won’t work.

So I bought these. They’re perfect! They are sturdy, made of good materials (best that I can tell) and the minor adjustments that I can make for the “height” of the training wheel – allowing me to make the training wheels closer to the ground or a bit higher to help allow my daughter to work on her balance – is great. Right now, I have the wheels all the way to the ground so she can gain confidence. The previous bike she had with traditional training wheels, she was afraid of because it was a little unstable when she turned sharply. It felt like it was going to flip over. The most I could get her to stay on that bike was less than five minutes.

I put these training wheels on her 20″ bike and I had to beg for her to take a break to eat lunch. She stayed on it for about 45 minutes and didn’t want to come off. Never saw her smile so much.

So would I recommend these? Yes, absolutely!

Had to bend the metal for it to fit, but works well.

I mounted these on my grand daughters 20″ Schwinn. They come with extender nuts to fit on the end of the axle. The brackets only fit when the extenders are installed. The thread pitch on the extenders is 10mm x 1.0. The threads on the axle are 3/8″-24 fine thread. The extenders will not fit the bikes axle! I believe most kids bikes are the 3/8″ thread. I am a mechanic, so I already have a 3/8″- 24 tap. I tapped the threads on the extender to fit the bikes axle. I did have to go to the hardware store to buy (2) 10mm x 1.0 nuts. I also had to trim a bit off the left hand bracket to clear the mounting tab for the coaster brake. If you are considering this set, it might be worth it to pick up a 10mm x 1.0 nut to try on your bike axle first. If it fits, you’re good to go. If not, you will also need to buy a 3/8″ -24 tap to use these. All this being said, they seem like a pretty sturdy set of training wheels.

Very flimsy. They bent after a couple of tines riding and were no longer touching the ground. Also it feels like they were made fir smaller bikes and not adult size ones. I bought this for my daughter to learn riding an adult size bike. She’s talk enough for it. She tried it once and it was a fail. She ended up learning without them. I sent it back. The return process was very easy and no problems.

It works well for kids bike but don’t try for an adult bike, I had 1 20 inch and was easy to install but it kept coming off when being used.

I ordered this set of training wheels for my 9yo son’s 20″ Huffy mountain bike with multiple speeds. (Yes, he’s late to the bike game and tends to be over cautious and hesitant to try new things, so this is our compromise to get him to even give the bicycle a chance.) The listing specifically mentions that it’s for bikes with multiple gears, so I don’t know if the fit will be as good for a single speed bike.

Installation was smooth using the included parts and instructions without any modifications, and the metal brackets feel very thick and sturdy compared to the training wheels that came with my younger son’s 16″ bike. The wheels are holding up well so far after a week of daily use.

I’ll update this review after a few more weeks if anything changes, but so far I’m very pleased with these training wheels.
