very comfortable even in 100 degree heat. I use them for mountain boarding not mountain biking. My upper leg area is 16 inches round with 16 inches between the knee and ankle. so small fit well. They are really expensive considering they are made in China but they are very well made it seems with quality materials. It must be the kevlar and removable Xmatter. I’m sure they are tough and can multiple hit/slides. Overall I like them and I ordered the elbow pads as well.

Fit great and stay in place. I had previously ordered poc VPD 2.0s and returned them because of the lack of shin protection. Then I got VPD leg but those were to restrictive. I then ordered both the IXS CARVE and FLOW. I’ll be keeping these Carves because the extra shin, and knee side protection that comes at very little comfort cost. I usually leave these on for the drive home they are that comfortable! If your looking for one pad for bike park days and trail riding I think you’ve found them!

These pads have saved my knees on a few falls from my mountain bike. They do offer good protection from impacts to the knee and side of the knee and I’m sure I would have had some bad injuries without them. However, they are extremely uncomfortable to wear. To the extent that I have injuries on the backs of my knees from the chafing alone. The fit is good (size S) and the silicone strip just about makes contact all the way around. A bigger size would mean that the silicone strip would be bunched and baggy. So it’s not a case of wrong size, it’s just bad design. I’ve ordered some Ion K-Pact Zip pads, they look more comfy plus you can take them off without having to remove footwear.

I wore these once for an hour ride, and they left the backs of my legs raw. I would not recommend these if you were going to be doing a lot of peddling. If you’re going to be going downhill with minimal peddling, Then I recommend them. They are secure on your leg and will not move, but the design needs to be revamped because they rub the back of the leg raw and leave it in pain.

Stayed put on my knees. Not a problem when pedaling. Fell down on a technical section with rocks and had no problem.
