So I’ll write more of a review when I get a feel for the camera. Camera shipped very fast and in great condition. I ordered with the 256G memory card. However, for some reason I could not find it in the packaging. The seller did send me a picture of what looked like everything that was in the package. I had extra though from my GoPro so I was still able to set it up and get it running. I’m excited to add this to the arsenal for my YouTube. This should be a game changer being able to get basically drone footage when I want to add to a shot. I’ve got 6 GoPros/action cameras/4k camcorders right now but I think this will become the go to camera. This will be especially good when I do my slot videos as I can not only get the slot but I can do a split screen to see me or just switch back and forth in 8K with stereo sound. Also looking forward to the drone perspective when I’m doing hunting and fishing videos. The hero probably won’t be going anywhere but it probably won’t be the first one I reach for.

I was mistaken—this won’t be my go-to camera after all. While the Insta360 X4 excels in capturing amazing 360 views (perfect for exploring videos like the one I shot entirely with it about the Big Easy on my channel, Justa_Jer), it’s definitely not built for convenience.
Let’s talk about the file sizes: they’re huge due to the 360 video. Editing is where things really go off the rails. The Insta app feels clunky, and since I use Vegas Pro for 90% of my editing, the process is a nightmare. I have to export the views I want from the Insta app, import them into Vegas Pro, chop them up, do transitions, intros/outros, and then render. Rinse and repeat for every view.
That Big Easy video? Took me seven hours to edit, render, export, and re-edit, all to condense it into a 22-minute video. While the camera’s potential is undeniable, the time investment makes it less appealing for regular use.
If you’re willing to put in the effort and need those unique 360 shots, this camera can deliver. But if workflow efficiency matters to you, it’s not the seamless upgrade I’d hoped for.

I’m so excited about this purchase. I didn’t notice the lease guards as they are in a slim box that holds instructions. I reached out to the distributor and they promptly and politely replied. So I want to commend their great customer service.
The set up of the X4 was easy, just follow the prompts on the device.
The selfie stick required a bit of muscle to expand it the 1st time. I can’t wait to use it.

Its a great camera. Ive been learning it. The only problem ove seen is heat related. The compact size causes hest to build up when filming 8k. Which is 4k each lens. Ots better to use 5k+ or 5k action instead as the heat isnt as bad and the filming looks fine on these settings. It has some great things on it and the editor on computer adds some great features. Would recomend over gopro or such as its waterproof and point and shoot camera. You just film. Dont have to look where you are filming on 360 mode. You reframe in production. It has amazing video as well. Love it. And the extensions and such. Great for filming all around. If you are an amature as myself. Its the one you want. You also dont need the thermal clip as its pointless. Its for you to hold the thing. Why? It should be to dissipate the heat. But nope. Get an external cage as well. Should help with heat. I bought the x4 and tried it and was thouroghly disappointed in its performance. It constantly lagged, had bad lowlight performance, and i didn’t find the image quality to be particularly good. It was advertised at free delivery and free returns. Upon initiating my return, I was told I could be subject to a 15% restocking fee. As is, thats far from free returns. They insured me that its only a minimal restocking fee, and only if the product is damaged or missing stuff in the return. I used it ONE TIME, still having all stickers/manuals/charging cables in the box/theyre sealed plastic. I returned it, and they charged me $253 for a restocking fee! They claim there was damage to the body and lens, when there absolutely was not. It was used a single time, and then put back in the box. Id highly suggest NEVER dealing with this seller if you have any intention on ever possibly returning the product.

MOST IMPORTANT: Be sure to look for the lens guards. They are a little hidden on the user manual box
This is my third Insta360 (I bought X2 and X3 before) and I can’t wait to test this one.
