I have 3 bikes, 2 road bikes and a mountain bike and the importance of keeping your chain and drive train clean cannot be overstated. After a few ” episodes ” of using a rag and toothbrush w/ WD40( not a good idea), I decided to go this rout as opposed to having a removable master link installed. The day I got it I cleaned my best road bikes chain. I used Simple Green as opposed to the fluid that came with it. IT WORKED GREAT !!! I ran the chain through a rag to get off the heavy dirt/grease,filled up to the line with straight Simple Green,gently pushed the top down and latched it(I didnt use the handle, seemed to be to awkward, just wrap your hand around it ) and ran the chain through about 30 revolutions, emptied and refilled again as the chain was kind of dirty.Ran the chain through a rag to get as much of the remaining SG off , then filled it up with clean water and repeated.It is important to remove whatever cleaner you use because if its left on it will dissolve whatever lube you put on. The chain came out VERY VERY clean, especially in between the links and it took maybe 15 min tops. Let it dry and lubed with the lube that came with it, which is decent stuff and the chain has been really quite and shifting very well since. You do have to hang on the unit pretty good when your running the chain through it and figure out the best way to place it so your chain doesnt drop off but its not rocket science, with a little practice and some youtube videos you’ll get it figured out.You will get some liquid leaking but thats to be expected, just put a rag under it. The bottom line is, its easy and fast , works VERY well, and will make your chain cleaning/maintenance more regular which is really the KEY. Its not built like a tank but its not as fragile as some have said, its hard plastic, after all its a chain cleaner not an anvil so just be careful with it. Well worth the price and wish I had bought it sooner. I consider this to be as necessary as the lube because if you lube a dirty chain your just spreading the dirt/grime deeper in the links. My friends watched me clean my chains and all agreed it was a must have item and were impressed with how well it worked.I mean I can read HG on each and every link now. When lubing your chain you only need to put a drop on the rollers between the links, spin the chain through the gears, run through a rag to get the escess, and you can just wipe the sides with the excess you get off. anything more is just a dirt attractant. Let it dry overnight or at least 2 hours before a ride. My regular maintenance is to run the chain through a rag after each ride to prolong deep cleanings.

Ho usato questo prodotto per pulire la catena della mia MTB, inserendo all’interno la giusta quantità di sgrassatore liquido. Facile utilizzo e ottima resa grazie alle spazzoline interne che riescono a sgrassare ogni micro spazio della catena. SODDISFATTISSIMO.
Evita di smontare la catena e dopo appena 5 minuti di lavoro la catena torna nuova e brillante.

Funciona perfecto, deja la cadena como nueva en menor tiempo comparado con un cepillo tradicional y desengrasante, te ahorra mucho tiempo además de que no salpicas con desengrasante otras piezas.
Considere que los cepillos internos sufrirán desgaste y eventualmente se tendrá que comprar el repuesto pero fácilmente con un buen uso duraran mas de 1 ano.
Algunos mencionan que es difícil de poner y que se atora al girar la cadena pero solo es cuestión de seguir las instrucciones de uso al pie de la letra y no tendrán problema.

overall this works very good at cleaning the chain. one thing i felt was essential to this was a solid mechanic stand, the one i use is the park tool home mechanic pcs-9. the reasons being is that in the beginning it takes a decent amount of force to get the chain moving through the cleaner and I don’t really see a kickstand or trying to hold the bike with one hand or whatever as being adequate. It was definitely helpful to be able to solely focus on operating the chain cleaner without having to worry about the bike standing up. The directions suggest a dry run before cleaner is added, if your chain is very dirty, like mine was, I would recommend to skip the dry run and perhaps even apply the degreaser directly on the chain as well as in the cleaner to help it get started. When i tried the dry run the resistance was so strong it popped off the to cover/brush and i thought i might have broken the handle. The clip and everything withstood this initial misuse which looks to me like it will be pretty durable and I was able to reattach/reassemble without any difficulties. As a solution i just added the degreaser and held on to the main body of the cleaner with no problems. I didn’t really count the revolutions, just kept going till it looked clean, possibly the downside to this is premature wear on the brushes but time will tell. On the upside, the packaging points out that the brushes, magnet, and plastic cushion are all replaceable (of course you will probably have to buy these from finish line or come up with your own DIY). The difference after was significant and I felt like I could stay in a higher gear against inclines and hills much longer than before, also now the drivetrain is whisper quiet with the addition of the dry teflon lube. Both the degreaser and the lube worked great, without these it is an ok value, with it is a great value and for $25 with free shipping and no tax (through bicycle source, not amazon) you’d be hard pressed to find a better deal. If you find anything cheaper it will only by 2-3 dollars you’ll probably pay for it in reduced functionality/durability. Get this and stop grinding your chain into dust!
