It’s I can’t get the extender out.
First time trying it less than a half a mile walking. When I got back riding the right screw fell off.

I have an M3R Brompton that gets used for commuting. I need to ride to the train station (1.5 miles), take the train into the city, then commute 4 miles to work. I unfold/fold it multiple times a day (from home, onto the train, off the train, at work, from work, onto the train, from the train, at home).
Part of my transit time includes walking about 1 block down a train platform and through the Chicago Board of Trade to get to the street. Because of crowds and needing to use an escalator, I keep my bike folded until I reach street level. The original wheels have worked okay, but after several years of use for this commute, they were wearing out (see the attached photo). I also have been frustrated by the tippy-ness of the bike when rolling through crowds. So I upgraded to these wheels plus the extender bar.
The directions for mounting the extender bar weren’t the best, but by setting up my iPad next to my bike and referencing the photos from the purchase page, I was able to figure it out. Make sure that you work out which side extends before you mount it! The side that slides out is mounted toward the gear side of the bike (You can see this in my photos attached).
I do have an issue with the product, although it has nothing to do with the quality of it (which is very good). For me. the extender bar works off the “wrong” end of the bike rack. It works when the bike is in “shopping cart” mode with the handlebars up and the bike getting pushed. That is not how I need to use it for my commute–which is as small as possible, dragging along/beside me, pulling on the seat with my fingers in the little grab spot. I’m not totally upset about this because I do still use the bike in shopping cart mode at times, and the extender bar definitely stabilizes the bike. However, it was clear that the wheels and the extender bar that I wanted–which would help me roll the bike when it is in super compact mode–were not part of the original replacement purchase I made.
I have now added a second pair of wheels which are a match for the pair that I got with the extender bar. They are attractive wheels that look better than the original easy wheels from Brompton. They are also lighter. NOW, my bike rolls beautifully when I have it in a full fold. The wheels are slightly square v. the more rounded profile of the easy wheels… that little bit of extra real estate actually makes a difference in stability. I also like the fact that the wheels now match all the way around.
These were easy to replace with my Park Tools MTB-3 Rescue tool, which has both allen wrenches as well as box wrenches. The box wrench is super handy for holding onto the nut as you release (and later attach) the wheels.
Pro tip: Both the Aceoffix and the Brompton Easy Wheels have some side-to-side play in them. You correct this by adding washers to the mounting bolt. The wheels do not come with washers, so you will need to purchase them separately or scavenge them from around the garage. I used one on the inside and one on the outside of the Aceoffiix wheels, which kept them from wobbling at all. Another tip: don’t over tighten or you will lock up the free rolling of the wheels. This is true for the Brompton easy wheels, as well.

The product is good but make sure you don’t allow the nut on the rod to unscrew. On my first one, the rod nut opened and some bearings fell out. After contacting customer service they responded right away and refunded the full cost. Very happy with their service!

Functions as advertised and helps steady the bike when the bake wheel is flipped under.

I originally gave this 5 stars because it looked nice and felt good when I first fitted it onto my brompton and hadn’t put it to the test.
This bar is actually just garbage. I’ve been using it on my Brompton for the past week to commute and everything about the part has failed on every level.
First, the extension bar bent within the first two days, making the telescoping action extremely difficult if not impossible.
Second, this piece is too large to properly fit onto a 2021 Brompton. Even using extra washers to fill in the gap, the slightest gap makes this thing come loose and fail. It caused damage to my bike. Absolutely unacceptable.
Finally, the actual piece twisted out of shape from the strain of using it for JUST A WEEK. I can’t even fix it because the part itself is ruined from just mild commuting. Absolute trash. Don’t even bother buying this. You get what you pay for.

Hello,
This product fixes a problem that I was experiencing with the front wheel of my new Electric Brompton. With the Brompton in its folded position, and a rear rack installed, the front tire drags on the ground, making it difficult to roll around.
In the included pictures, the money shot is the air gap that is now created under the front tire once the Easy Wheel extension was installed. Now the bike easily rolls, just like my other Brompton, which is non-electric.
Also, from the rear picture you can easily see the value of the extension bar. It help stabilizes the bike. Helping to prevent the bike from tipping over to the right.
As you can see in the pictures, I am currently using the standard Brompton roller wheels. With the extension added, they work great.

No longer working. First, no locking mechanism when rod is extended. Second it bends easily that I ca no longer extend it now. Save your money for a more expensive one that works. Right now, I wasted mine on this. You get what you pay for , I guess.

Installed it on the bike with the provided tools:
2 bolts and 2 washers. Added my existing easy tires to them and after my first ride. The bolt that connects to the frame fell off and then my Easy tire fell off as well.
Not a good product. I have to buy now a new set of easy tires.

Well made nicely finished product. Sadly about 1mm too small to fit – but – had it been ok I would have been happy to use it.
