I bought this for my daughter’s Cannondale Quick 24″. The bike doesn’t have much room between the down tube and the top tube, so we couldn’t use a standard bottle holder. This one fits and mounted easily, but we had to forgoe washers lest they make the mounting screws to high and they’d interfere with the bottle sliding in and out.
It’s only gotten a little use so far, but seems to do the job. Standard bottle fits in snugly, though one needs to combine a side entry movement with a top entry movement (if that makes sense). It may be hard to insert the bottle blindly (like I can on my full sized roadbike) since it’s not a loose fit. However, the holder is bendable, so I suspect bottles could slide in more easily if we opened up the holder by bending it just a little. Right now it’s a good, snug fit, and my daughter isn’t one to drink water unless she’s at a complete stop.

This holder has a textured coating that feels like powder coating and Iโm curious to see if it wears better than the paints on my other holders. Every holder I own shows the wear of bottles going in and out and vibrating throughout the ride. Maybe powder coating is more durable? I doubt itโs going to be worse than the other coatings Iโve tried. The cage itself is sturdy aluminum and the manufacturer includes the bolts and hex wrench required to attach it to your bike. The manufacturer offers this in two versionsโright- or left-opening, so youโll need to give that choice a couple seconds of thought. Do I recommend the product? Yes.

I bought this bottle cage because of its side load capabilities which were necessary due to my small bike frame, and it has been up to the task. I have gone off of jumps, drops, rode technical mountain bike trails, and crashed and my bottles have not budged one bit. Once you bend it in a tiny bit its a perfect fit and keeps water bottles secure. The only issue is that it leaves some black marks on the exterior of my bottles, but for 15 dollars its a steal and works well.

I have yet to put this through its paces but so far, I have a reasonably amount of confidence that this will hold my bottle securely even during rigorous mountain biking.
Design wise, I think it looks okay. I prefer less branding but I understand that is par for the bike part course. install was just as simple as any other and it feels really good. There is some give to the frame which allows you to “adjust” it to your liking. Some bottles are bigger than others so that is beneficial and helps to keep things more secure. I have limited access and some cages won’t fit due to my rear suspension setup but this works well for me.
So far I’m please, and the price point, for a good side load cage isn’t bad.
