Great place to hold and hide my smart tag on my bike. Bottle holder sits perfectly on top no way to even know its there

… Nos leemos ¡hasta la próxima!

I’ve been using a 3D printed tag holder for a while now. But the last time I changed the battery in it I noticed water inside.
This is way nicer than the one I printed. And even has a rubber seal that should keep any water out. A bit smaller than my printed one too, so it blends in better. My galaxy tag fits inside nice and snug as well. And even with a full water bottle, it’s very secure. No wobbling about once tightned to the frame and bottle cage.
Haven’t noticed any signal drops either. My tag is perfectly detectable detectable when inside the holder.

It’s small, subtle, and well made, with theft resistant Torx bolts so a thief would require an (admittedly easy to get) security Torx driver to non-destructively get this off a bike. The Smarttag2 is actually IP rated already, and when putting the case together, I was skeptical that the o-ring was actually doing anything. I did a quick, unscientific test, and yeah, this thing kept water from entering the tracker compartment when fully submerged in water. I’m planning on buying another for my other bike, and might adapt it with my own hardware for other stuff I own. This feels like a really good solution. It does raise the bottle cage slightly, so maybe consider a side-entry cage if you find it hard to get bottles in and out of cages after installation.

It gets the job done and keeps my SmartTag2 safely attached to my bike while also making it easy to get to in case I need to swap out the battery. I didn’t mount it under my bottle cage because I had a few extra mounting points on my frame. I’m not too worried because it comes with two security torx screws that require a special tool to install and remove. If you don’t have spares of these lying around in your toolbox, make sure to keep track of the one they give you. In my experience these aren’t foolproof and can be removed by breaking the security pin with a flat head and using a standard torx bit. But most people won’t know that and I still feel safe using this without hiding it beneath my bottle cage.

So I am so glad I found this. Great way to add a Samsung Smart Tag to my bike without it just sitting loose in a bag. I like that the case has some additional protection against the elements which is great for the type of riding we tend to do.
The unit comes with the case, o-ring/seal, two tamper resistant screws, and the wrench for them.
I installed this under the water bottle cage to try and hide its presence. That works somewhat well but does take away from the area that the bottle can fit. This bike has a tighter frame opening but still works well. You may not want to do this on some other bikes. I will be re-positioning this to the unused vertical mounting spot on the seat post tube. You will 100% see it but hopefully the screws give it some time to register its location before any thief figures it out.
I wish this was a little more low profile but there is nothing that can be done about that given the dimensions of the tracker itself.
This would be a must have is you are a bicycle commuter. Nice to have an option for my Samsung tracker.

Accidenti a me.

The plastic got teared & damaged instantly.
Be very careful using this without breaking it.
