I purchased this only several months ago. The frame broke completely apart and fell off the bike. Cheap paper thin metal. Buyers be warned!

I ride a Kent FleXor 29. It’s a solid bike that I picked up new at a bargain price. I love to ride, so I decked it out with forward tank bag, under-seat tool kit bag, LED headlight for nighttime riding, and even a discreet electronic horn to grab the attention of clueless pedestrians or the occasionally blind driver when I approach his/her blind spot. I ride at least 20 miles commuting every day, and I pursue birdwatching and other outdoor activities on the weekends. I always carry a fanny-pack to hold my phone, wallet, and credit cards. My current iteration of fanny pack also came with a conveniently accessible squeezable 500ml water bottle. And I used to carry a backpack. When you haul a backpack of any weight for distance – even as few as 5lbs of weight – you will suffer stiffness and back/neck pain. I figured I needed a bike rack, but I wanted something minimalist but strong and functional.
This “Bike Rear Rack Retractable Aluminum Alloy Bicycle Cargo Rack Mount” from Outtag Store is AWESOME!!! It certainly is robust enough to support 55 lbs, and it comes in a small footprint – ideal for trail bikes and hybrids. Face it, you’re not riding a trail bike to deliver groceries. But you do need something hard enough to haul your adventure kits and take a pounding on rough terrain and back roads. This unit attached securely and takes a beating. The metallic black color adds just enough rigor to the bike’s silhouette without detracting from its rugged demeanor.
But I had one problem with this rack. The brace leg supports extend out as far as 14.7 inches (32.5 cm), but my Kent FleXor 29 seemingly needs about 17-18 inches to more comfortably extend the rack fully away from my seat. I tried to make it work because I really like this sturdy footprint. Unfortunately, I just cannot reach that extra 2-inch level to more comfortably attach the rack.
I contacted the seller, and the company got back to me promptly within 12 hours. Unfortunately, the legs are what they are. The manufacturer does not have a work-around at this time. But they did come up with a more than fair solution. Suffice it to say, I will be buying from this vendor again.
The short of it: Fine, sturdy, minimalist bike rack – but may not fit a 29″ frame. I hope the designer goes back to the drawing board to add 3 inches to the leg brace extension.

The material is good. Not cheap. Sturdy.
I had to return though because I can’t make it fit my bike.

Easy to install. The clamp is more stable than the ones that screw in of you like to ride your bike hard and carry stuff.

I bought one just like this that did not extend to the rear, so half the rack was underneath the seat. I returned it and got this one that extends to the rear, making it possible to place items on the rack even if taller than the under part of the seat. It’s built of light weight metal, simple to install with allen bolts and wrench included, it clamps to the seat post of your bike. The extension to the rear is adjustable too, and there are small posts underneath to attach bungee cords to hold your cargo. Very sturdy and well made, remember it’s only made for a maximum of 22 lbs. of cargo but should be great for smaller loads.

Don’t even notice it on the back of the bike even when it’s loaded up with a six pack.

First of all this rack is very sturdy and easy to attach and and all together a nice rack. Unfortunately though, it is a poor fit for shorter bicyclists. I am 5”3 so my bike seat is lower and that leaves not enough of my bike post left to fit this rack. When I tried to attach, it fell so low that it was laying on top of my back tire and that was at the highest part of the post it could go. I had to return it since it was not usable for me.
