This HOUSON bicycle chain comes in branded cardboard and plastic packaging. There is a clear and easy-to-understand instructions leaflet. The tool is nice and light to use. Reading the gauge is easy, and gives you a good indication of how much wear and tear your chain has had. In my case, I have a relatively new chain on my bike and there is no current sign of needing it to be replaced. At the time of review in late July 2024, this tester is £9.99, which is good value.

It’s a bike chain tester and it works perfectly well, you basically slot the poles into your chain and push lightly on the gauge, how far it goes shows exactly how stretched your chain is and if you should start thinking of getting a new chain ready. As an e-bike rider chains tend to go much quicker so this is very useful to just keep an eye on it and I usually check every few rides or so.
