I picked up my fathers unicycle and over the course of a week learned to ride. Having a basic knowledge of riding a unicycle I decided to buy this product; The Sun Unicycle Flat Top 24 inch 2014 Green & Black. After owning this unicycle for well over a year now I have a lot to say and I will try to sum it up quickly here.
Durability: The hard plastic front and back seat can take a hit. If you are learning how to ride, this is a great unicycle for that reason. The plastic absorbs most of the impact but can get a little bit scuffed with repetitive falling therefore it is ideal to catch the unicycle on dismount whenever possible. The frame itself is solid and relatively light, I have had no problems with it besides a few scratches on the frame which is expected from any similar product over time. Also as with any other bike or unicycle it is important to keep it well oiled and out of water as certain spots especially on the wheel which can rust if you don’t take care of the unicycle properly. The tire itself has not worn too much even with my relatively heavy use. I have disassembled and reassembled this unicycle many times by this point because I take it with me when I travel as a carry on in its original box. The hardware thus far has not needed any replacement but the paint has chipped off of the nuts and bolts in a couple of places.
Rideability: I am 5′ 11” and I like to have my leg nearly straight when the pedal is on the lowest point in respect to the ground. Even with this relatively high seat position, there is still a couple of inches to extend it higher and lower if need be. The unicycle turns well depending on how much you inflate the tire. The pedals are in a great spot and I never have any ankle rubbing or conflict. Lastly the seat is very comfortable for a unicycle despite how it looks.
Price Point: The price is right for casual riders and possibly even beginners depending on how dedicated you are. For those casual riders and dedicated riders it has given me what I paid for and has not given me any trouble for the amount I have put it through. For those who are more experienced unless you are trying to save money this unicycle is pretty standard and does not have anything too special going on.
Other: The unicycle’s olive drab color looks incredible in my opinion I am really pleased with how it makes the unicycle look. Despite its looks it is not a mountain bike and should be used for casual riding on flat ground whenever possible however, I can confirm it can be ridden off road for short time. When I made this purchase my dad who also rides liked it so much he got one of his own so in a way this review is not just from the perspective of one rider but two riders who both approve of this product.
Disclaimer: This product comes disassembled!!! You must make sure that you own the right tools as it does not come with any. I found that it needed metric sizes of the following tools: #5 Allen Wrench for the seat and various metric sized wrenches for applying the frame to the wheel and the pedals to the crank arm which are backwards threaded!
I have truly put this unicycle to the test so the images I share should not discourage you! This is a great product!

Readinf the other reviews i was alittle scared about miasing peices but all the peaces came included the build quality is alot better then i expected. Feels very sturdy and rides smooth . seat was not uncomfortable like many others said its hit the ground probably 150 times by now and only the fall guards on the seat have alittle scratching. Nowhere else on the unicycle is reciving damage from the falls. Overall very pleased with my order …im 5″11 and just bearly fit on this 24″unicycle however if you had a hacksaw or somthing to shorten the seat post alittle bit it would be able to drop alot lower. Not an issue to worry about in my opinion with such an easy fix.. Worth the money .

When I open the box I was missing a bearing cap and three Bolts. After five minutes of riding it the pedal fell off I emailed the people I bought it from and I feel like they gave me the runaround about replacing the parts besides that I really like the unicycle I JB welded the pedal back in I took a part Off my other unicycle I made it work I feel it’s easier just to replace the parts myself then go through the people I bought it from. The people I bought it from asked me if I took it to a bicycle shop they have it put together if I was going to do that I would’ve just bought the unicycle there.

It looks great and is just fine for me to ride at 6′ 2″. My only negative experience is that the inner tube did burst once (not while riding), probably my own fault, but it was very easy for me to replace.

The unicycle seems to be well made. It came initially without the hardware for assembly. It took a while to be able to receive the needed hardware, but once it’s all together, it feels solid. I wish the clamp for holding the seat post were a bit easier to lock down solidly, or maybe quick release so it could be adjusted up or down more easily, but overall, it’s a good quality unicycle for the low price

I ride all over my college campus and have gotten a ton of compliments from people, so I guess the several weeks it took to learn were worth it! Unicycle looks awesome and is plenty durable. I’m 5’7″ and it’s not too big for me, but if you’re any shorter you’ll probably want to buy the 20″ or at least cut the seat post down. Happy riding!

Unicycles take a beating especially when someone is trying to learn. This one is built to take the abuse. Good quality for the price.
